I never heard of a university selling games!

Universities teach and release games developed by students for free non-profit. You don't need a license for that! If you want to sell the game you developed it has nothing to do with the university. University Programs are intended to let "unemployed students" pay less for expensive software but UDK is free.

aaa actually that isn't what i was asking... im just making a game as a final year project and i want to test it on iPhone. to deploy the game on iPhone in order to test it you need to generate provisioning which requires iOS developer license. iOS Developer University Program also provides a license but different from the other licenses. just wanted to ask that if i could get that license and test the game on iPhone. im not thinking of selling it with that license..

    HAhaha! This is very funny!

I just checked their website, if charging too much for their devices was not enough, Apple is charging $99 a year for everyone who wants to develop software for iOS! Even if you don't want to sell it, apparently the "mobile device" will not run the game without an valid license key added

What will happens if Intel or Microsoft start to do the same?

Yes, $99 developer license is required from Apple, even if you are planning on giving the game away for free. Not a very high cost though really. And yes, it's required for being able to test your game on a device.

You also must have access to a Mac to submit your game to the App store once the game is finished. A Mac isn't required for testing though, only for submitting to the App store.

well i guess the university program is only for the universities which offer some sort of course and that license can be used to test the games only.
