Unhappy Help with importing into udk from blender

Sorry this is a repost cuz i posted in the wrong place....

Can someone tell me the most reliable way to import models (static meshes) from blender to udk? I tried .fbx but when I imported it, it came out in udk as seperate meshes according to material (which is not what I want) and when i chose the option "combine meshes", it came out looking pretty screwed. I wanted to try .ase but I can't find the export script for blender

Also, I don't understand the lightmap thingy: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/LightMapUnwrapping.html can someone please explain it to me??

And lastly, how do I properly import materials into udk?? And can I import cycles' materials into udk? The material that I tried to import looked weird and didn't have things like the reflective property I set in blender D: D: D:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPQW5x1rhAY this should help for importing to ASE,
also to create materials you first need textures, import your textures : normal map, cavity map, ambient occlusion, texture map whatever you have available, create a material and use those texture, for the reflective thing in blender it won't come out in UDK just like that, blender and many other 3d softwares use their own custom shaders, not to have the same reflective property you see in UDK you'll need to recreate this shader,

The "mesh according to material" should not happen, at least, not because of FBX or UDK. They have no such options that I am aware of.

be advised you need to apply a material to the mesh on UDK your material in blender will not be in UDK when imported you'll need to do it yourself,

I'm pretty sure that you can only export a single mesh at a time as an fbx, with the exception of the collision geometry. Unwrap your meshes twice (once for your textures and a second one for the lightmap), delete your camera and any other extra objects in your scene and use the fbx exporter. For static meshes you can even scale it x16 in the exporter, but I'm not sure if that will work for skeletal meshes.
