Dirty Little Secrets Final Issue

Hey guys just wanted to remind everyone that Dirty Little Secrets issue 6 is out today!



It sums up the first battle of Azura when Myrrah takes it over. Also we finally get to see what Paul Dury looks like!

Summary:
The comic starts off two years after the COG disband, KR-04 is on recon at Endeavour shipyard. They find a very large army of grubs raiding the shipyard, the grubs notice them and start to fire on them. KR-04 contacts commander Dury and notifies Azura of the large amount of grubs. Dury tells them to get back to base and make sure they aren't followed. Prescott goes and talks to Adam telling him about the large massing of grubs, they discuss wether the machine will kill them the grubs along with the lambent. A couple reavers follow the KR unit and locate the Maelstrom, they report to Myrrah, who figures that they must be hiding something very important there. Nevil and Dury have a conversation about wether its better to stay and fight or leave. Nevil states his brother would have never run away. Then Nevila and Adam have a talk about weather Adam is feeling ok, about how Adam wanted to tell Marcus good bye and Adam tells Nevil to tell Marcus goodbye and sorry from him if he doesn't make it. Outside the barrier Myrrah starts to plan her assault on the Maelstrom barrier. She devises a plan to have some of her troops swim under the barrier and disable it so her main force can get in. The plan works and the barrier comes down, Myrrah sends a army's worth of locust against Azura. The battle breaks out with the locust having a huge advantage in numbers, Adam and Nevil try to run from the attacking locust, while running Nevil starts to fire his lancer against the attacking locust. In another section of Azura Myrrah lands and tells her troops not to kill the humans in white lab coats because she may need them later. Going back to Adam, he states that Myrrah won't kill him, because she needs him. Dury and Prescott are under fire while they discuss evacuation plans, wanting to get Adam out of there and trying to make contact with Hoffman. Dury and Prescott reunite with Adam and Nevil. Prescott tells Adam to escape , but he refuses and tells Prescott he should escape instead and tell Hoffman and Delta what has happened, Adam gives Prescott the video message for Marcus. Prescott asks if Dury is going to satay, and he says its his job to guard Azura, and tells Prescott Lowe and Rivera will go and keep him safe. Prescott departs on a raven with Rivera and Lowe, while Adam goes to his office, while Nevil and Dury rush to hid Adams research. They encounter a group of locust and start to fire at them in a "last stand" kind of situation. While thats happening Adam goes and sits at his desk waiting for Myrrah to break in. After she mashes through the door her greets her. Then it pans to Marcus sleeping in bed on the Sovereign while Mathiesons voice booms over the loudspeakers "Now here this Marcus Fenix and hazard watch to CIC immediately" and Marcus wakes up.

Paul looks nothing like I imagined him to be in The Slab.

I'd imagined him as having brown, close cropped hair and a more rounded face. Ah well.

I thought it was a pretty minor but cool thing, but now, as Karen did work on Gears 3, it could be possible that she asked Epic to add that little detail if she'd thought that far ahead. Probably not this but if Dury died, I'd like to think of that as being it.

I need to get DLS. I have the other 2 story arcs because of Book 1 and Book 2 which also came with other stand-alone issues, but I don't think they will release a Book 3 with DLS and the other 5 stand-alone issues. Anyone think they will?

I checked yesterday, their are two dead Onyx Guards on the same level as Adam's office one at the beginning of the hallway and the other half way down the hall way. Interestingly enough the one at the beginning of the hall way is holding a locust head in his hand, while a decapitated locust body beside him. I guess before he died he was able to cut its head off.

honestly, Im glad to see this story arc over. I havent liked it since the first episode, so Im excited to see whats to come. sure i still bought them all and read them all, several times, but it got stagnant for me really quick.

The reason i liked DLS is because it added the stuff they didn't have time to cover in the novels. But ya i can see how they could get stale after reading them a bunch of times. I really hope they continue to make more gears comics even without karen, hopefully Ortega comes back and does a couple.
