Best tutorial for character importing

I'm not much of a programmer yet, but I was wondering how to take a character and make it the main player for a small test I was doing. That said I want to know the best tutorial for accomplishing this. I've watched a few but most of them don't make much sense to me(an environment artist).I am using the newest UDK.
