Forum medals in Gears of War Judgment

Hello, I had this great idea while looking at threads.

How about being able to show your rank in the forums on Gears of War Judgment?

Each Rank has it's own medal so that when you link your gamertag to your forum account, you get the medal for which forum rank you are.

Each Medal has its own unique symbol.Like when you put on the Iron Guard Medal on, It would have it's own symbol and have the name Iron Guard under it so you can show your rank on the forums.

It would be great and we would get more people on the forums.

Take into mind these medals are not needed for 100% completion, just for fun.

I would say no, first it would be difficult to make it work, and second, it would encourage more people to come to these forums(not always bad, but I extremely dislike half the people on these forums.)

How would it be difficult? It's very easy to make some medals.

It may be easy to make the medals, but it would be a little more time consuming to make it based on your rank in the forum.

As for why I don't like people on the forum, let's not get into that.

Nah. Not explode. Maybe go a little catatonic for a while but thats it.

Also, Flak has said they would have to basically rebuild the entire forums to make it work.

Just not worth it. Too many people would get an account and just spam nonstop. We have enough of those people right now anyway.

Way too much work to do. Would require forum updates, getting game to sync with forum and more. Way too much work involved, expecially with posts getting deleted, users banned ect. Most I could see happening is redeem codes for the IHelped The Community and Featured Epic Gamer titles as those would be low in number and needs none tweaking. Itd be the same as a Bete Testee medal except unlocked by redeem code instead of saved game.

Yeah, I both agree and disagree with this... but I support it more than not. Do think of the traffic it would generate and the amount of useless posts people would create because they MUST HAVE all the medals... but still would be VERY cool to have this.

Perhaps forums badges/medals, which are displayed under your screen name when you post and can also be used in-game.

Awarded for fulfilling certain requirements. For example: post count, time spent here, helping the community (similar to the banners we currently have), etc.

I dislike most of the new people here just because they really don't lurk enough for their own good. That, or they feel entitled to something for having contributed nothing to the community.

It would encourage MASSIVE loads of spam for absolutely no reason.

This I think is the viable option to be fair. Much more feasible (even knowing I wouldn't be getting one). It makes sense to reward where it's due, and it wouldn't be a huge amount of work.

I'd love to see just the Banner itself skinned onto a weapon.

Correct. Have Microsoft generate 250-500 of the codes and that's it (like how M$ generated many of the Avatar weapon codes for Epic before they pulled them) and done.
Although they really wouldn't even need this either. Joe Graf can actually give unlocks to players through server side updates. Much like how those involved in the charity got custom skins.

God, I hate the people who feel so entitled to something they will pull the reason out of their ass, your ass, and the poor kid down the block's ass just to stick to their point, which is pointless. -____-

I think it's a nice idea, but I personally would rather work in game for a medal with the same name as my forum rank, rather than have it linked and give lurkers and casuals a reason to join and spam the forums with more entitlement, more "original," and more complaint threads.

While it might be a cute idea, it would render the forums completely useless as 10's of thousands of people would spam the forum on an hourly basis just to get all the medals.
