i sign in today and open gears of war 3 .. and a press start button and i got reset

i was i 98 rank .. and now 1 rank :'(

and all my medals and ribbons has gone

please Fix it and Return my rank

I don't work for EPIC, but I don't think there's any way to get it back.

It's a glitch. Unless you had a backup there's nothing you can do.
Stats are not saved on Epic's servers - but rather your Xbox profile. That's not something they can edit.

If you haven't played a game yet. You can always try and go to your console settings and delete your player data and then reboot the game. It's a rare chance it will fix it; but it has worked for some.

There are several ways to corrupt your data and 80% of the time it's your won fault. 20 % it might be the internet or your xbox, but never Epic. i can only play one game of horde before i freeze,how is this my fault?
the only thing myself and everyone else that this has happened to have done was to buy this game and expect it to work as advertised,so please stop blaming these poor unfortunate players who have had their rank and stats reset and start putting some pressure on epic to fix this.

I can understand your rage but please don't aim it at Tundra. He is mostly correct, the data corruption is not there fault, the lack of a safer sytem to help prevent this is. They are working on it though.

The horde glitch is a completely different issue!

If you want this fixed faster then you should post every detail of every incident you have in a clear and non ragey manner.

i am sorry but i am not raging at anyone but pointing out that people need to stop blaming the players for getting reset when the vast majority of resets occur through no fault of their own,and focus on putting pressure on epic to fix this

sorry but i feel both these issues are inextricably linked as i have been reset four times each time preceded by a freeze,every time i freeze it's like playing russian roulette with my rank/stats.

as i said above i can only play one yes ONE game of horde before i freeze,so it is not practicable to come on and list every incident,but i invite epic to monitor my games (if this is possible) and try and learn what is happening as i seem to be one of the worst hit by this freezing/reset glitch.

there are two types of freeze,one that will let you go back to the dashboard when you eject the game and the other completely locks up your xbox forcing you to restart it,so no finger pointing at these unfortunate players please.

Reset is not Epic's fault. Freezing game is a different issue. Corrupted game data is an issue in any game and can happen to anyone. If you check out the links I have already posted you can see what causes the reset (and that it is often your own fault). I guess i'm not understanding how it is my fault. I got reset because the game said my disk was unreadable. which is really funny because since then I have not seen that message again unitil i got reset a second time. So explain to me how that is my fault???? I have no scratches on my disk. And the second time it happened it was on my son's disk!!! Not sure that I am buying into that whole topic that 80% of the time its the consumers fault!!!

It's the 20 last per cents. What I am saying is from personal experience and knowledge and might not apply to everyone, more of a general thing.

I'm not saying it to offend you or anything. I was reset 8, you read it correctly, 8​ times in Gears 2. Then in Gears 3 I realized what caused the resets and I have only been reset once (had a backup).

I have never been reset in any game that I have played except GOW 3 in my 25 years of playing video games. I am just hoping that EPIC can fix this issue in GOWJ. This in my opinion is why there is such a drop off in this game now. there are more players playing campaign then the actual MP online. That is SAD in so many levels!!! More people have wondered off to play other games like COD and ETC... EPIC needs to resolve this issue more than anything else. No one should have to make backups to a game other than there original save file for a game. I understand that EPIC can't fix every possible senario that can cause a reset but for there sake I hope they fix the ones that can be stopped on there part for the consumers sake. I am a die hard fan of this series and that is why I have started over again after being reset with no prior knowledge. Good luck EPIC fixing this, BUT PLEASE DO FIX THIS PART OF THE GAME!!!!

I understand. Things happen that people have no control over. It's unfortunate, but data corruption can never be fully prevented.

As far as resets being the rule or the exception, it's tough to say which it really is. The number of people posting online about it are a small minority when compared to the total amount of players.

A lot of resets are caused by something the player did. Obviously it can happen randomly, but plenty of people have gone to the dashboard or turned off their xbox while data was being saved.

For the record, I've never been reset in Gears 2 or 3 other than when I intentionally reset myself on Gears 2. Maybe I'm lucky, but I'm also very careful. I feel bad for those that have been reset, especially those that had a system freeze cause the issue. That being said, people can't just blame Epic for it. Gears is not the only game it happens with. It's been an issue for many other games, including CoD and Halo: Reach. It's a matter of data corruption, which has been an issue since data storage was first created.
