RO 2 Counterattack Mapping Contest

We at Tripwire would like to inform the UDK community of Tripwire Interactive’s “Counterattack” Custom Map Making Competition for Red Orchestra 2 with over $35,000-worth of prizes. Tripwire are partnering with Origin PC, Nvidia, Intel and Logitech to bring you a truly spectacular mapping contest for the Red Orchestra 2 that will give all of the amazing talent in the modding community a chance to shine. The headline prize will be an awesome $10,000 and a high end Origin PC laptop with a custom Red Orchestra 2 paint job for the Grand Prize winner.

The theme for the maps, unsurprisingly, is World War 2. We’re expecting Eastern Front, as we already have the Germans and Russians in place, but it is up to you!

The contest will run in two Phases. Phase 1 completes August 15, 2012, with a First Prize of $2,500 and an Intel CPU/Motherboard for the winner, while the runners-up will get prizes including prize money, Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies. Phase 2 is the Big One, completing October 15, 2012. The Grand Prize will be $10,000 and a high end Origin PC laptop with a custom Red Orchestra 2 paint job. Yes, a full Ten Thousand Dollars for the winning entry! There will be more prize money, Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies for runners-up in Phase 2.

The Application Form will be open nearer the closing date for each Phase, as you only need to submit your entries when they are ready and not every single time you create a new version (please!). Keep watching the Red Orchestra 2 website for news on when we will open the application forms. But start mapping. Now! There is only one way to win – and that is to create an awesome map. So get to it…

Important things to know:

• Red Orchestra 2 runs on a modified UE 3. The base UE 3 that we use is most similar to the September 2010 UDK
