Default So here's what I'm worried about...

I've seen a few baffling posts from people on here who were underwhelmed with the E3 announcement (It's too soon, It's not canon, etc...).

What really worries me, as far as the future of the franchise goes:
Anyone else think the media coverage on it was luke warm?
I mean, aside from some excellent coverage from Game Informer, the rest of the E3 headlines were like "And there will be a new Gears title... meh."

Gears has always been "under appreciated".

More people take more interest into other shooting games. (Not naming them, as that would be comparing their "appreciated-ness.")

That doesn't worry me. CoD always steals the limelight when it comes to coverage. A lot less people play Gears so it'd make sense why people wouldn't be as bothered about it.

Every year fools buy CoD, I'm fine with the players that the game already have

The trilogy is completed and this is pretty much just 'the next Gears game', announced less than a year after the release of Gears 3. What is there for the general population to get excited about? Overrun isn't enough to excite people who aren't already Gears fans. What do you honestly expect?

That's not to say that the game isn't going to be amazing to us fans, it's just what was shown at E3 to entice the gaming world at large? Well, not even that, it's an Xbox exclusive title so that cuts out PC and PS3 gamers.

I agree with everything you guys are saying, Gears has always been an underdog type of title. But this time around, it felt really different, like game journalists are falling out of love with the series.

I couldn't care less. The game looks awesome. As a fan I will follow the news and definitely buy it. If the rest of E3 wanted to focus on the other games let them.
