Default Unite the Clans! Looking to network and cross-promote with other teams

    Hey Guys,

I'm looking to start doing some cross promotion and networking with other leads of teams and independent studios. Mainly plugging each other on twitter, facebook, linkedin, and all that stuff to help us all raise awareness of our projects and our studios in general. We have 616 or so fans on facebook but some of them may prefer RPG games or RTS games or casual games to a serious hardcore scif-fi shooter like what we are making and so could be interested in what you are doing and likewise you may be working on an RTS but have some die-hard FPS fans on your facebook page that might be interested in what we are doing. By doing the occasional post here or there on FB or twitter or wherever we can all rise up far faster than working separately and independently from each other

So what I was thinking was that everyone post up all their social media pages and websites in one place(Here) so that other team leads can check it out in one easy convenience location and reach out to each other to talk about cross-promotion or just networking in General. I'll start:

    oh my.....

once again I suck so much...

No studio website (don't have any phisical site for a studio nor a bunch of PC with licensed software nor a public accountant, etc therefore no real studio equals no website for a non existant studio)

    No facebook.

No facebook project page (I really hate facebook)

    No twitter

    No linked

No indieDB (there is no point as long as we don't have a playable demo)

No recruit thread (couldn't take it anymore a lot of dumbs contacted me like this **let me see your documentation** "there is none", **oh you don't have a GDD you are so doom...let me see the scripts of your AI** "what? no!" **huh you don't have AI done....give me your scenario meshes I check them out to confirm you are good enough for my time...** "???what...you already watched them in the slideshow" **aaaah that doesn't count I need to see if you are for real.....I check them and if it is good enough those meshes will belong to me and I will use them in any project I want** "OMFG!!! you are so stupid"...... I got like 7 of this kind of guys so I took down the recruit thread...................

Now what do you guys think? my team and I are doomed at game dev?

    Are you okay? Wierd...

@IronBelly : I think that's a pretty cool Idea. However, the forums is only a portion of game devs, not necessarily gamers/game fanatics. Also; usually posts get drowned out unless this gets stickied. So they may not be a huge benefit to everyone but it MAY be useful.

    Good Luck!

@ Jug: Not at dev no, but when it comes to actually selling and distributing the game, yes.

Since our team is just two primary people (not really a team ), im posting on our behalf since the project lead, Robert Dukes, is not very active on these forums. I am the lead programmer, so I am giving both info where relavant.

@Jug - In my opinion, You can have an IndieDB as long as you have gameplay to show, an actual demo is not neccesary.

OH OH you nailed it, let me tell you something there is no market for what we are trying here, it does not exist anymore and we are very aware of that, there is NO posibility of going to a publisher with this project, making the whole project is just a part of the hard work, selling is the same difficult as the gamedev or maybe worst.

A good collection so far.. I'd saay that contact information like skype/msn/gtalk or email would be a good thing to have here so that others can network.. Linkedin especially is a great place to network if people want to include their profile urls
