    Default Setup for portfolio renders?

Hey all, I've got a few finished models that I want to import into UDK so I can grab a real-time render for my portfolio work. Just curious if anyone has any advice/tips for getting the best possible screenshots, what settings to use and so on. Any advice would be great.

One issue I'm having at the moment is that after building the lighting and 'playing' the level, unless I stand very close to an object it's shadow information seems to display wrong- random artifacts/shadows showing up on the model etc as you start to move the camera further away.

It lowers the texture resolution the further away you get. If it's noticeable then your scale is probably off.

As for quality, you can increase shadow map resolution and use some post-processing. Besides that depending on the content you can also do some DX11 stuff like tesselation.

Besides good materials, lighting and shadows, post-processing effects also add a lot to the image. Make sure you have AA enabled too.

There's a similar discussion on polycount that might have useful info:

Post processing could certainly be used to add contrast and enhance colors/hdr for a crisp static shot.
