Lost everything

Hello, first time typing on this Forum. I was playing am on-line Horde match back on 06/08/2012 made it to level 48 in the match, when the game suddenly began "lagging" and it would eventually lead me to leave the match. When I logged back into the game everything I have done in the game my achievements, my rank, my downloads, my unlocked characters were all gone. I am more that upset about this this has not only costed me all my achievements and time but se money as well. I contracted Epic Games and they told me to Contact Microsoft then Microsoft told me "Sorry" then told me to try this Forum. Does anyone have any ideas or assistance on this situation?

First of all, sorry to hear about this. I was reset in December myself.

Unfortunately you're out of luck. Epic is not going to help you and will not even acknowledge you. Resets happen daily to many players and they just don't want to admit that this game is flawed in that manner.

You're also going to get a lot of people saying a) you should have backed up your data and b) that Epic isn't at fault because all games have the risk of corrupt data/resets (which we all know is bull because I've never been reset in any other game in my entire life except Gears 2 and Gears 3). These people are fanboys who don't want to say a bad thing about Epic because it might hamper their chances of getting a weapon skin in a forum giveaway or damage their credibility as a true Gears fan (silly I know).

The sad truth is there's no resolution and you'll have to start from the beginning and it's best if you forget about getting any help from Epic because it's not going to happen. Every single day new people are posting about being reset and they are given the same shabby treatment.

Good luck my friend on the grind back if you do decide to continue on.

Thanks for the reply - I really appreciate it. I probably will try to grind it out I am a die hard Gear fan - Hell it's the only reason I got an Xbox. Thanks again for your time and reply

No problem, I wish I had better news for you but that's the way it is unfortunately. I lost 24 onyx medals, my rank, ribbons, weapon skins that couldn't be earned back (golden weapons from launch week). I was pretty upset but then started the grind back. I'm now just waiting on 6 weekend events and saving my last 5 pistol kills to unlock Seriously 3.0.

I would suggest doing what Thicketford posted. I had to do a manual reset in order to unlock certain medals. Might want to do that before you start the grind all over. Good luck.
