That'd be awesome. Highly unlikely, but awesome. I'm thinking more along them taking the lines from the COG Gears in Beast, and just porting those over onto the new generic Gear skin.

No, there is something that can be fixed...I am not talking about joining in the middle of quickmatch and spawning as Marcus...but when you are playing through with the same set of people and at the start of the brand new match it says "Joined in Progress, your preferred character is not available" it sucks.....it is just downright insulting when someone else joins and they spawn as your preferred character and you are left as Drone or Marcus.

On topic: no to Baird as default, hopefully it is generic gear.

Being forced to become the default character when you were already in the lobby and your choice should've been able to load isn't a problem? (albiet a minor one)

What Richtophen and I are complaining about is when you are in a fresh brand new lobby that you did not "join in progress" and yet you spawn as drone or marcus while the rest of your team is their preferred character. It's not a major problem but it is there and it stinks, now if you want to talk major problems there is always the mantle kick *sigh* of course alot of the problems with that are connection based...I have no clue on how Epic could fix that.

I know for Gears 2 voice and weapons were all re-recorded.

well set your preffered character to marcus or drone and you wont have a problem. you will spawn as as your character everytime GUARANTEED!

I spawn as Drone and see the rest of my team as Spongebob Le,Myrrah,Savage Hunter, etc.... and I am left wondering? would it have been so hard to spawn me as Golden Hunter?

Happens to me sometimes as well. Sometimes I get the message, but I still get my preferred character.

I'm just going to assume some characters are harder to load than others.

Well, death and pain yells for one. There are a few lines in Gears 3 that were from gears 1, but not too many. I was mainly speaking about the death/pain audio of the characters. Hopefully at least Baird or Cole will get some new ones like Marcus did.

No, it's not a "problem". Annoying to some? Sure. Does it affect gameplay in any fashion? No. It hardly qualifies as a real issue in any fashion. It's a small server glitch. It's not related to the game itself.

In Multiplayer that shouldn't matter. I'm beginning to see a sort of double-standard when it comes to answering questions.

They say that in multiplayer, canon doesn't matter. Yet the reason they stated Baird was the default character in Judgment's multiplayer was because, "He's the star of the show this time around!"

Kinda hope this wishy-washy beating around the bush attitude is just a phase for them. I'd rather they be upfront and piss off a few people instead of beating around the bush and getting people excited, only to piss off a mass majority later on when everyone's convoluted idea of a few quotes here and there end up being the exact opposite of what Epic intended to do in the first place.
