Did anyone else notice this?

So I noticed that there is a mention of "Serrano ocean" during the campaign. Is this a hat tip to General Serrano from Bulletstorm? The obvious link is that the People Can Fly team worked on both titles, but does this draw a direct link between BS and GOW? Can we extrapolate on this and assume that these stories inhabit the same universe? Did anyone else notice any canonical ties between the games? (other than the fact that all the characters have tungsten carbide testicles)

Anyhow, it's probably just an easter egg, a reference to previous titles. Lots of game developers do it.

i doubt its a reference being as gears is set on Sera, the humans are Serans and thus naming an ocean "Serrano" seems a normal tie.
