Gore on or off?

On. In GoW2 I would turn it off because the blood splatter would impair my vision in Gnasher battles, but that problem is non-existent in GoW3.

I'm sure there's a small advantage to playing with gore off, but I just love the satisfaction that comes with gibbing your opponent and seeing his body fly across your screen. I couldn't imagine playing Gears without it.

Well the gnasher is alot better with gore off cause it shows these dots when you hard or pop shot how many of your bullets hit the enemy and lets you know when to push IMO soooo i play with it off and do alot better just cause of the dots

On, if I didn't have that pop of a sniper with the following fountain of blood from their neck I couldn't possibly happy, same thing as with the Torque Bow no chunks no fun. Would be awesome if the onyx guard only said "Your moms a classy lady!" when you had it turned on though lmao.

Always on. It's one reason in a list of many that I prefer Gears over other games. I'm all for the simulated, graphic violence this game has to offer.

If I feel that my game is suffering, or that I am just not performing as well as I should, then I turn the gore off for a good week or two. With gore off, the game just seems to play better and it's quite surprising to realize that it affects my gameplay so much. Give it a shot. You might like it.

A very good player on the forums a while back -MC7OVIN. He used gore off and often did well, he stated the blood was distracting for him.

On! to play with it off is very strange indeed... I used to do it in my competitive days as it lets you see a little better but nothing beats seeing chunks and blood all over the floor and your screen haha.

In Horde or playing Private I have it on. Versus online it is off. Now, it could be crap, but since doing it this way I seem to be winning more of the "One shot at point blank" duels with my Gnasher.

Also, when firing my Gnasher I get bright yellow "hit marks" rather than the "blood" that would normally come up, making it easier to say if I hit them.

The cherry is face punch executions for locust.

I'm playing with Gore-Off because i can't remove the bloodsplatter on the screen otherwise. Kinda obvious uou want to see what's happening witout blood on your eyes.

In gears 1 only the host of the match had bloodsplatter.

I only had Gore Off in Gears 2 so I can hear people dieing no matter how violent, funny noises made me happy, don't need to in #3 since I hear funny death sounds and beautiful gore at the same time, all good, nothing advantageous about it, sometimes I turned it off for online play so I don't feel so desecrated when dieing, like being suddenly startled by your head being blown off, closure.

I have it on. With gore off the game just loses the AMAZING feedback you get from killing someone, which is one of the reasons why I play Gears over other online games. Shooting someone with the one-shot and them just falling over just doesn't feel right.

If you play as the Locust you do the COG face punch execution too.

The "gore off" can be very misleading

what happens if you are seeing evey pellet land but they aren't doing no damage.

Sometimes its funny to watch people do backflips and cartwheels after I snipe or gib them, but I love Gears so much more with gore. I play better with it off-- its minimal, but body parts get in the way, and I hate when blood blocks my screen in a critical shotgun fight. With gore off I can see where my shots land.

I agree with everyone who said Gears isn't Gears without the extreme gore lol

I actually turned it off last night to see what would happen.

I also turned off vibration too, and I did really well! lol dunno if it reduces sponge/fps lag or what or if it's just psychology. Couldn't really tell.

Didn't like the look of it though, blood and guts and head-pops makes gears well... gears.

I know a few people who play with it switched off just because they say it stops the screen cluttering up and they can see where their shot are landing
