Okay, so if you haven't read Joveus' forum on the Locust Origin, check it out.
This thread is about the Sires, the parents of the Locust Horde. Over the past three games and several comic and novel books, we have fought and killed high thousands to low millions, adding on to those lost in the Lambent war before E-Day.
What we know is that Sires are poisoned, infected Imulsion Humans. They were studied at New Hope and while there gave birth to children with abnormalities. Also, Imulsion causes sterility in lifeforms. So, this is what I found out.
Replaying the New Hope Segement, I counted to (from ALL we were allowed to see) exactly 164 Stasis Tanks. Now, if these were just males or if every Sire reproduced invitro, here are the numbers:
For one child per every Sire: 164
For two children per every Sire: 328
For three children per every Sire: 492
For four children per every Sire (if that many): 656
And these are the numbers if each Sire was paired with one another in a traditional sense:
For one children per couple: 82
For two children per couple: 164
For three children per couple: 246
For four children per couple: 328
Now, first of all is we do not know the exact number. Second of all is Imulsion does not cause AUTOMATIC sterility. It goes down the more generations made. So maybe even the Locust managed to reproduce way more. It works like this: If you have Imuslion inside of you, about 30% of your eggs or sperm is sterile. If you have three kids, one of them will be sterile, and on and on.
Lets also not forget about Human Processing. There is a genetic signature in which Humans translate to Sire then Locust. So over the years, thousands to millions of people have been unaccounted for, they were kidnapped, processed, and turned into Locust. Plus, Locust really didn't have enough people in the first place. They manage to kill 25% of the Human popluation in one day, but then spend the next 17 years trying to kill the 1%.
