Either Sovereign, Anvil Gate or Azura. Deadlands, Char and Endeavour were increadibly lacklustre and boring. Mercy was especially gripping towards the end of the act (you know what I mean), and Hanover gave some interesting insight into Cole.

Mission to Mercy for me, but I'm always a sucker for those Act 3 horror moments - Lethia, New Hope and Mercy.

Edit: Btw, my brother votes for Hanover.

Between Deadlands and Anvil Gate for me. Certain parts of Azura also make the cut, but the entirety of it didn't feel as stellar.

I can't choose between Sovereign and Anvil Gate, i like them both equally, i really like fighting on the CNV Sovereign and hearing Michaelson and Mathieson on the PA system. Also i liked defending Anvil Gate from the hordes of the locust, also i really liked how it looked.

Road to Mercy, no doubt about it. One of my favorite parts in the entire campaign.

For me, the Mission to Hanover, because you controlled a whole different group with different personalities than the your everyday Marcus and Dom crew.

Definatly the battle for Anvil Gate...

We get to see and experience an iconic location in the Gears universe.

One of the only missions I can remember in GOW where you actually get overwhelmed and have to fall back to the next line of defences instead of just pushing through areas, clearing out enemies as you go. (from memory, feel free to correct me).

We finally get to see that mystery disk cracked open and the secrets of Azura revealed.

Some good, deep seeded tension between Hoffman and Marcus.

and we get to meet Bernie for the first time!

Anvil Gate then Deadlands (thought the latter had the best graphics in the game and some really nice level design too). I am very pleased we are going to get more 'last stand' scenarios in the new game.

Anvil Gate no doubt about it. That was a fantastic mission and I hope that concept is really expanded upon in the next Gears game.

I honestly can't decide. I like the battle for the CNV Sovereign, the mission to Hanover, the battle for Anvil Gate and the mission to Char. In fact, the mission to Char would've been my favorite except for the encounter with Griffin at the end. If I could, I would've cut the cables to his cablecar with my lancer chainsaw as he was flipping me the bird. The cluckshot Easter eggs are priceless, though.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

The relationship between Hoffman and Marcus is resolved before Gears 3. I saw no tension between them in the game.

for me its Anvil Gate, for a couple reasons. first this battle ties the Emergence War with the struggle of the Pendulam Wars, also in terms of playability one has the chance to hold the gate without using the "last resort", for me being able to stand in the shadows of C.O.G. Heroes from the past while making an "Alamo-like" stand is very satisfying..
