Default Help me to find this map?

    Hi

I found this video on YouTube.

The map should be Deck17(or16) which was also available in older Unreal Tournament games and someone also made that map for Half Life:

And there is one more thing, how can I got those:

The killstreak looks not that good but I like how the weapons are displayed.

The video shows the UDK UT Demo game (on a side note: no desaturation and much better lighting).

It's DM-Deck, just with polished looks.

And on top of that, the original Deck 16 (also with slime) had no Bio Rifle room at the Shock Rifle and the corridor ended at the Flak Cannon. That extended corridor which lead to the Bio Rifle room was first introduced in Teddie Tapawan's DM-Deck17[FuT], a custom UT2003 version of Deck16's neighbour which had lava instead of slime and the additional corridors, the bridges had a different, bent shape to support the UT2003 player movement better, however, instead of jump boots you had a jumppad down there and the map was used for the default UT2004 maplist later as an official map (like Teddie Tapawan's CTF-FaceClassic).
DM-Deck is like a mix of Deck16 and Deck17 and it has an open roof.

That last screenshot shows the UDK UT Demo game on Deck again, hence the 3D HUD.
A huge fan of the entire Unreal franchise and Bulletstorm.

Did I understand this right? The Unreal Tournament 3 Demo has a better engine then the full game?

So is there a way to get this polished DM-Deck Map into Unreal Tournament 3? Is it just working with the UDK demo? The current map looks different.

Well thanks for that, I didn't know that.

Well, the UT3 Demo game in UDK is not equal to the demo released before the fullversion got released.
It's based on the released version of UT3, Link Gun was changed into the starting weapon, ammo is recharging, slower firing rate, Rocket Launcher and the Shock Rifle have a slower firing rate as well. however, there is no way to get this version of Deck into the original UT3. You can remove the desaturated look if you apply GPing's Ini Colour Tweak (for that, see one of the sticky threads in this subforum). His tweak will remove most desaturation of the entire game giving it a more bright and colourful look, not exactly like in the UDK UT3 Demo game but at least it doesn't look so depressive anymore.

What concerns the polishing, it's mostly done by the engine itself.
What they did change in this version of Deck is the post process volume (which increased desaturation in the original UT3) to give it a brighter daytime effect and replacement of weapons for the cheap selection of the 3 edited UT3 weapons I mentioned above. And probably they recooked it, but that's all.
Now, the rest was done by the Unreal Engine 3's (not the same version, probably 3.5 or slightly above in this video as it's from 2011) improved lighting and material rendering. It renders raylights coming from light sources in real time, no need for any raylight static meshes, it has lightmass, a more detailled lighting on static meshes, better material rendering (believe me, UT3's material rendering looks like crap compared to UDK's, UDK's bumpmapping is by far superiour to UT3's, funny thing is that everything is directly imported from UT3, it's unedited and looks better!) and so on.

Now, even if you could import UDK's DM-Deck map, it wouldn't change anything except that you would have a slightly brighter post process. The map would be still desaturated because in UT3 the desaturation is predefined by the engine settings (and many thought it was impossible to get rid of that ugly desaturation, GPing managed to do it though).

You want such an awesome graphics udpate too, right? Well, I'm sure it wouldn't be much work as Epic has the tools to do so, but the fans are not loud enough.

Lord PorkSword once started a petition about a port of UT3 to the latest Unreal Engine 3 which is being used in the UDK.
