It's NEVER going to happen nor it ever should.

At least give us some reasoning with back-up as to why. Simply saying "so more people play ranked" makes zero sense and is not a reason.

I would play ranked all the time if more people played it. i dont get why people dont play it. you get your preffered characater, you can vote the map you want, you get a little more xp. i dont see a down side besides people who quit alot.

For me it's all about lag. I get minimal lag and far less sponging in quick match. Half of the time in ranked I'm rubber-banding, sticking to walls, and everyone sponges my shots like crazy. The other half is fine. A 50/50 chance of a non-laggy game isn't good enough for me. I'll play ranked if I have 3 or 4 friends with me, but even then quick match just works better.

Stats
Slightly less xp
No quit penalty


Other than xp what makes rank stand out

Ranked still has a niche, people like starting a game from 0-0 and Ranked still has less bots in it which draws some in.

Also in general Ranked has better players, not to say some players in QM are bad but Ranked provides more of a challenge for those seeking it.

Obviously Ranked is not for everyone but it still has its rightful place as QM does.

Also I don't see ranked has having more challenging players, merely more challenging connections. It is a lot more difficult to do well when you teleport/rubber band and shoot blanks more often. I'd rather play p2p.

Ahh, text does not translate well to sarcasm. My bad.

I must be the only one who finds it to be the opposite. I find QM has less then stellar connections and Ranked is always solid. I rubber band more on QM sadly but it's not often enough for it to be game breaking.

Gears 1 + 2 both had ranked matches and everyone played it. thats when it took skill and it was fun. now in gears 3 you join a quick match and sometimes its only you with 4 bots facing one whole team or people leave and cry cause they were losing one game. Back in gears 1 or 2 you found a match, picked your character, picked the map, and always played with a full team who never whined or raged quit when they lost.
