Nothing at all happens when I try to launch GoW PC?

I'm a few years late to the party, but I thought I'd give Gears of War a try (after getting hooked on cover-based shooters by the Mass Effect series). So I bought it on xbox.com for Games for Windows Live. It downloaded just fine, but when I try to run it, literally nothin happens. I double-click on the icon and...nothing. No error messages, no going into the game and crashing, etc. I just stay on the desktop. When I try to run it again, it tells me "another instance of Startup.exe is already running."

Any ideas?

The machine I'm running it on is a Vaio F2 with a Sandy Bridge quad-core i7 and a 540M, running Windows 7. I've got Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus, if that matters (in case of a conflict with AV software, though that seems remote).

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game...same issue.

Problem resolved. I reset my computer's calendar to 2007, it booted up and it ran just fine, I quit out, reset the clock to the current date, and now it works fine.
