I used to play Ranked in Gears 2 all the time, even with the ridiculous waiting times to get game, but in Gears 3 Ranked seems to have worse connections, more lag, and more sponging than QM, so i just stick to QM

Same for me. Ranked is laggy and full of sponging more often than not.

I dont play ranked because I mainly play solo and I hate playing sweaty full teams. QM exe ftw

People try just as much in QM compared to Ranked. You are talking about QM Exe as well, Exe in general has more "sweaty" players as you put it. There are plenty of people who take QM very seriously and go into try hard camp mode when they start losing.

As for the OP, the simple idea of being able to quit with no penalty and starting the next match immediately will keep people playing QM there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it and Epic already said they will not be changing any of it.

The only issue QM has is the team balance when players get shuffled between COG and Locust in between matches.

I don't play ranked because I normally play solo most times I give ranked ago I get matched against 4/5 man teams and I get all randoms so my team wont have a strategy and they do, so obviously I will lose

Qm more chance of randoms on both teams not as many stacked teams but when you do find them you can quit free of penalty

What would everyone think about removing bots from QM? I know this is a drastic change, but it seems like it would help alleviate some of the inherent problems when being on a team with only 1-2 other actual players.

-Leader is no longer a bot.
-Bots aren't easy targets for opposing players.
-Medals and Ribbons have to actually be earned (if you've chosen to get them "online" in actual versus)

The main reason i don't play ranked is because it is much faster to find a match in quickmatch and in case i have to Leave a match to take care of something i am not penalized for it.

Actually if you quit a quick match pre-maturlly you get an loss added to your stats.

Won two games, The third game was two white rank noobs, They rage quit :/

No that isnt fair.They put quick match in their so people can jump right into the action instead of waiting 20 minutes to find a match.Ribbons and xp should be obtainable for both and your idea seems selfish

Thats untrue,i quit some matches and my numer of losses dident increase.When you quit a match,on the stats boards its says "incomplete" instead of defeat
