    Default NECA Clayton Carmine's head

Clayton's head on the Gears 3 series 1 figure doesn't even look like him. If it wasn't for the body, it wouldn't be recognizable. Shabby job, NECA. I am disappointed.

Not their fault man. These figures are in production for months, and so are based off Epic's original character designs. This then means if Epic change their characters renders in any way, the figures can't be changed as it would be to expensive to later the current production run in terms of sculpts, molds and already produced batches. This technically means we all own a 'prototype' Carmine. Anyways, it isn't that far out. Very few changes were made and it is recognisable as C Carmine which is lucky. There's been a few Halo: Reach and SW: The Clone Wars figures that have been waayyy out due to this.

If you want someone to blame, it would be Epic for changing their stuff (same could be said for Anya since she has the 'prototype' hair that can be seen in early character renders (although I'd say this one's for the best since the finished hair looks terrible in game).
Ultimately though, I don't know if anyone's to blame since this has always and will continue to happen for as long as products are demanded to tie-in to a movie/film release.

True, it just really bothered me how fishy his eyes look on the figure. I really want a Clayton, but I just don't want one that looks like such a goober. I disagree with the Anya, because I think her hair kinda adds to her hotness in the game, but I haven't seen the prototype hair either from the original model, so I'm not sure if it looks better or worse for my tastes. I wasn't aware about the production system and whatnot though.

Yeah, a lot of people don't know about the system behind it al, which makes sense since people don't realise how much work actually has to go into a piece of plastic.
Ok,so below I've put in some images for you. The first one is Anya as she appears in the final game, the second is the earlier version that I mentioned. While it's opinion based over which looks best/sexier etc, I base my opinion on realism. The finished model looks very unrefined and patchy, while the original looks like actual strands of hair, so for that, I'd say the original looks best:

As for carmine, I can understand your complaints. I'm OCD when it comes to accuracy with stuff like this, but it's as good as it's ever going to get. I don't think they'd waste time/money on a new version, especially when it isn't that far out.

Not really. Their figures are EXCELLENT quality, the headsculpt for that one is just shabby. The only other problem I've encountered with some of them is loose joints, Gears 3 Baird has one leg shorter than the other, and the paint on Marcus Fenix in the Marcus vs. Drone pack is shabby, but everything else is incredibly detailed and well made.

I don't have many problems with the figures, period. But I see what you mean.

Multipacks always seem to be slightly shabby on paint/quality. I often buy the star wars multipacks and find they aren't as good as single carded figures at times. I guess it must be down to trying to cut costs to make a bigger profit since most multipacks are sold as a 'loss' to the company.
