Yup, I mentioned it at the Epic Gamer subforum and now, just minutes ago i saw Flak finally posted this great news of Unreal's 14th anniversary on the community site!

That game is just a masterpiece, still manages to scare me these days, even though I know almost every event by now. The magic of Unreal.

How does Unreal scare you? I found nothing to be scary about it.

Its an amazing game! I restarted my playthrough of it and am playing through it. I stopped playing originally cause I couldn't figure out where the hell to go and didn't want to look it up online out of laziness. I love the game but the levels are just difficult to navigate and figure out. I feel like I'm going in circles 80% of the time, but I still love the game itself. Happy Birthday Unreal! I hope we see another Unreal or Unreal Tournament some day.

I never got very far with Unreal though. I did get it at around the same time that UT came out, but mainly the view bob made me ill!

Have you been in the ISV-Kran and Sunspire yet?
The dark corridors, great soundscape, fitting music and surprising attacks in the dark manage to scare me even today.
Oddly, Doom3 didn't manage to...

However, I don't think the levels are confusing and difficult on the other hand. They are just "non-linear" (in the end there is a just one start and one goal, but you often have to go back, take a different route, activate something, solve a "riddle", go back again, etc.).

Flak, does that mean you inspired Epic to name the #1 of the Necris Akasha, maybe a tribute to you? Or is it just a coincidence? I mean, if it is: WOW.

I still talk with a lot of the people I chatted with way back then. Most of them have gotten lives, my life however, still revolves around Unreal. You changed my life in a great way Unreal, Happy Birthday.
