They’re so gripping that we’ll go without sleep just to see a little bit more. Some stories bring us laughter and sometimes they bring us tears … but isn’t that what a great story does? Makes you feel? Stories that are so powerful … they really are with us forever.

Hi, and welcome to EPIC Stories, a collection of some of the best Gears short fictions ever posted on the forum. The stories featured in this thread cover everything from comedy, to stories written from a Locust perspective, from official characters to original ones, and more. They're mostly short too, so you could read them in around five or ten minutes.

Mi Gears of War 3 Fan Ficktion Storytale - TimIsWin

Winner of the Best Comedy Fan Fic Award of 2010, this story by TimIsWin is one the funniest, craziest Gears fictions of all time.

On the Beat - Jonesybites

Succumbing to a brief hiatus, the Gears sit back and listen to Sergeant Lucius Jacquin's stories about his previous occupation as peace officer in one of the most notorious red light districts in Tyrus. Despite waging war against the genocidal Locust horde, Lucius reveals a side of humanity that seems to beg to question what about humanity is worth saving...in the process, Lucius himself has to make a decision what is it that he finds worth fighting for.

Pariah - Jay the Arbiter

Queen Myrrah has declared war on humanity, despite warnings from the Worm Goddess T'Chark that a war with the humans would lead to their destruction. Myrrah has corrupted the Kantus sect and they now preach a false new testament that justifies her actions. One lone Kantus Priestess stands by the ways of old and refuses to let her son be corrupted by the new order.

Survive - Wisdom Thumbs

Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago have survived two world wars and the near-extinction of the human race. But with so many years of grueling combat under their belts, one begins to wonder what could possibly keep them going. How have they endured where countless others have not?

A grizzled and scarred Gears veteran, an inexperienced Raven pilot, a whole lot of Grubs, and... a promise.

Generally an Epic is defined as a long narrative poem. An Epic story is a story that embodies the values of a society. Filipino epic stories provide reader to discover a lost culture rich in magic, bravery, splendor and magnificence.

I wouldn't take him/it serious. I'm somewhat sure it might be a spambot, that's why I reported it. Pretty sure it just searches for a fitting "article" to post in a thread by using the words in the thread title as tags. Just check the signature, it's advertising a game, oddly it has no link to any site or anything of that kind, usually that's quite common...

Speaking of new months, September is here and with it, the anniversary of the Monthly Writing Assignment! That's right folks, you guys have been writing for a whole year in the Gears Universe! So, let's do something special! Only question is, what? Give me some ideas to make it special, you guys. I've already put some thought into it myself, but I'm not the only creative person around here, as I've seen this past year!

Well, a year has gone by and our anniversary Assignment was a great success. It had the most participants and the highest grades so far. So, I think we're all improving! Always a good thing, in my opinion.
