So everyone wants new characters and stuff. I don't think I've seen anyone mention Carlos Santiago. I would like to see this character eventually take shape. I mean, it is to conclusion to the trilogy, it'd be cool.

Yea, I highly doubt we'll be seeing any Pen. War characters at all in the Gears of War Series.

Pen. Wars was basically just a background for the video game, and some of the characters.

Yanik. That's who I want to see. Although character skins are not something that I clamor for. However, with Yanik and his one liners from the books, it would be EPIC.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the game. He was a great character.

Ps. Every time Pad went back to base after months outside the wire, he would first stop off at Carlos's grave and pay his respects.

I have suggested him before, but it was in a small thread. Went unnoticed probably.
I think it'd be neat to have him.

Carlos would look a lot like Dom. Also, the only people who care about him are people who've read the books, which is like 1% of people who play the game. Same goes for a lot of the characters. Also, someone mentioned Bai Tak. To get hiim in MP he would have to be the scaled to the same height as everyone else, which would ruin the point. If Pesangs were to make it in this game, they would have at least had a little scene during the Anvil Gate part because they were there according to Coalition's End.

Why? No. Commando Dom was not a Gears era character but it's a variation of a key member of Gears of War as a saga. Carlos has nothing to do w Gears of War. He was dead before E day.

Obviously not entirely, otherwise we would have lambent mp locust. What was the reason they gave for not including them? They still adhere to some canon principles.

Every skin we have is a character or variation of a character in the Gears main story arc. Carlos and Bai don't belong.

I must say that I for one am completely pro Lambent Drone being added to the Locust side. Not sure if you have seen LambentHammerburst's thread on the subject.

I have but the reason has nothing to do w coding, explosions or anything of the sort. Epic didn't add them simply because they never fight along side locust in the story and they refuse to add a third faction. Period. Thats their only reason for not being included. Why we agree or don't is irrelevant, it's why it's the way it is.

I figured as much, but we the fans can still dream I suppose. Perhaps one day we can persuade them. Not holding my breath though.

Dom was involved in the Locust War. Cole was involved in the Locust war. Anya was involved in the Locust war. Marcus was involved in the Locust war.

Dom wasn't a commando. Cole wasn't a thrashball player. Anya wasn't a civilian. Marcus had armor.

These are just variants on existing characters that WERE involved in the Locust war, but the people they are variations of were still involved in the Locust war. Carlos had nothing to do with the Locust war except that his death meant the success of the mission that ended the war that preceded the Locust war. That's a pretty flimsy association.

Hell, they don't even fight along side the Locust in Horde. Gunker waves are a breeze if most of the supporting units are Locust.

And the savage marauder rips off Jynx's arm when Anya and Sam are stuck outside of Anvil Gate after the digger shot wrecks your truck...so...yeah he was totally in the game. That, and ANY Locust character would be involved in the Locust War canon since, y'know, they're Locust.

"see" and "met" are not the same thing. yeah they probably wouldve seen each other, but since they DONT go to the same classes, they probably wouldve never met. THATS the probability.

its a savage grenadier that kills jynx, not the marauder

also, just because they fought in the war, doesnt mean they should be in the game. by your definition, we should have skins for reeve, pad, trescu, mathieson, yanik, gettner, barber, shaw, gyules, rojas, jynx, and thousands of others. they all have fought locust, and the same as the locust i mentioned, NEVER appear in the game
