Default How to build lighting for only one room?

Hey, i'm currently working on a large level with many rooms inside a mansion. It takes about 20mis to build lighting fully, but every time I do this I find find I want to change part of the lighting again, then have to wait a further 20 minuets or so before I can see the new results.

My question is, is it possible to tell UDK to build lighting for only the area I want to preview, and maybe render the rest of the level as black or unlit? So far the only thing I can find about doing this is to make my LM importance volume only surround that area, but this seems to make next to no difference in render time or outcome...

    Thanks, Ricky

Yes i have maaanny lights and meshes and all of that stuff... I'm basically looking for a way to make the lighting build much faster but only for a very specific area at a time to get an idea of what the light will look like in each room, then later tell it to build the entire map again when i'm ready.... sort of how Maya can render only the area you tell it too if that makes sense ^^

The level is still only on preview quality as it is...
I take it there is no way to actually just tell it to build lighting for the area within a selected volume then? :\

Left Click on the lighting build button in UDK.
Select light(s) you want to build in your room & build.

You may want to download some newer versions of UDK, as they already make a better preview of your light-building without you have to rebuild your level. Mind, though, that dynamic objects will fail in that mode.
Consider yourself as a problem in the world...
