I played ranked TDM today for the first time ever. I was always hesitant to go into it because of all the bad things I had heard about it. Tryhards, trolls trolling tryhards, immature people who rage over nothing, slow matchmaking, etc. I went in and I pretty much loved it. It had a much better atmosphere to it. Everyone was focused on winning, even when it was obvious we were losing. Matchmaking was very quick for me as well.
As for the things I didn't like so much, there are few. I noticed people are a lot more disrespectful to downed players. Dry humping, smoke swinging, giving people the "So Close" ribbon, all that. Also on the topic of downed players, most people who got downed wouldn't crawl. They'd just lie there and accept their death. I never give up, so I don't understand why they did.
Then there were the Gnasher duels. It only happened in one match, but it happened enough in that match to spoil the game, for me at least. Someone from the enemy team would melee at one of our guys, then they would have an organized, honor driven duel. I think such things are asinine. That's why if someone challenged me, I would rifle them to death. All match long, all players but me were having organized duels, and I wasn't about to lose a match because people want to stroke their egos. I ruined their duels by shooting them all to death with my Hammerburst! My team didn't take kindly. I left afterwards to find a match with sensible people.
I played Ranked for about two hours and I'll definitely give it another go. Oh, the biggest party I encountered consisted of four people. I suppose it's true when people say that all the stacked teams are in QM.
