Problems with Beta??

Hey guys,

I have download about a week ago what it appears to be the May Beta version.

I got a book that seems well explained and enough deep for starters, but I am runnig with more and more issues.

-- New Document and chose (Additive \ Sustractive ) not there anymore, and instead is a group of new start to choose, this is not any problem, but when i try, to use brushes to "carve" in the world (sustractive) nothing never gets "stamped" (or build) until I click the the CSG Add button.

The program also crashes very time to time.

I guess to that the “Geometry mode” button has also changed, I am trying to do an exercise from this book and is not way to extrude and afterwards to scale the widget (or I do not find how, (I am getting nutts with this )

The most difficult thing I find is to select the edges, sometimes it just keeping selecting the faces and no way to select edges.. . (how do you do that?)

And so on, sometimes I do think if it is the program that is not working sometimes, not sure.

I want to buy that book, (the one I have is a second handed copy, but the portrait picture of the book looks the same that the one in Amazon, some of the interfaces pictures are clearly different that my interface’s, time to time), but I am afraid that this version is to new and I gonna be on the same spot.

Where I can find an appendix of this new version? Is there any good book to be recommended?

The book you got is very old. Basically, Unreal used to be a subtractive type Editor; but now it's mainly just additive.

Hey Solid Snake,

I expressed myself wrong probably, the book is "Mastering Unreal Technology, volume I, the book is quite good and easy to follow (well, til now at least), the pictures inside the book are almost the same as the interfaces I got from this last vesion UDK Mai Beta 2012. I think the book is updated til 2010

The problem comes when there is dissimilarities, and some times i just can't go on.

Being this last version so new i just wonder if there will be out there any book or a index of the whole interface.

If you know anything over documentation of this version just let me know, will be very pleased.
