Jace's Ear?

Yeah, the title is a bit weird, but I like digging around in the Gears Lore. I was comparing character models in game compared to how they are described in the lore, and Jace's ear stood out to me. In the Lore, his ear is deformed as he nearly got his head taken off by a Torque Bow, and barely survived the encounter with part of his ear being shot off. If you look at the character model of him in the game though, both of his ears are perfectly fine. How could epic miss a fine detail like this? They put scars, tattoos, deformities on characters how could they have missed Jace's ear?

It's possible he got a prosthetic ear, or people were just lazy.

They probably forgot about it. I think it would be Kind of Hard to remember all events from The comics that Would apply to character models.

Yes, but it would have made Jace a little more interesting. Not like it really matters in the long run. Just pointing out a minor detail epic missed for the sake of it

Well they didn't include any Gears of War 1 lines for Anthony Carmine & the fact that both level 100 & 400 look very similiar & let's not forget Bernie / Sam sharing grunts.

All jokes aside, I prefer Jace with both his ears fine.

If one of his ears were messed up I probably would choose him left often.

They just didn't want to model it same as Marcus' other arm and ignored the question anytime it was asked or submitted.

I think it was done for the aesthetic appeal of a character. Believe it or not, when a character is missing an ear and only has his lower portion, it can dismay the artist from going with the design just because it doesn't look as appealing to the eyes. I mean it might have been an oversight, but I think it may have just been Epic not liking Jace with half a ear.

I actually like characters with battle marks. It gives them a sense of history and toughness. Jace always seemed like a kid. Would have been nice to see him as a kid in RAAM's shadow like we did, and battle hardened in the regular campaign. I'll admit he is sure as hell tough, but he still looks like a kid.

Because Lil Bow Wow isn't missing an ear, duh. Jace really did look like a tittybaby in Gears 3 campaign, was kinda weird because he sounded like a 30-something badass in his few lines in Gears 2 during the Hollow invasion. Even his figure was a mean, tough-looking badass. Then they stick a black male's head on an almost female style body. Was weird. Feelsbadman.jpeg

I'm pretty sure his in game model has a scar on his ear.

I've gone into ghost cam to see if they actually detailed it and saw a little scar.

Jace also has a lot of noticeable scars on his arms. I don't Epic would take the time to detail scars on his arms and not the signature one on his ear.

Yeah, same. I also like it if we see a character transition throughout the series or game itself from one state to another. Always makes the events happening in the game feel all that much stronger.
