Back to Gears2?

Last night I was Gears 3 and saw for the first time that number of players on Standard TDM Quickmatch dipped below 1k. They say that the player monitoring system is broken, but it is still a hint that Gears 3 is losing players. But do they go back to Gears 2? How many of you guys playing Gears 2 have migrated from Gears 3 and plan to stay there?

I think people are getting tired of the issues that aren't being addressed. Game freezes in horde, leaderboards not updating in arcade campaign, inconsistencies in other aspects of the game, etc...

Myself and a couple of other players have been playing the campaign on insane with 3 hard mutators and putting up some real good chapter scores only to not have them saved. Even had a few that would have been in the top 15 on a few chapters and nothing to show for it.

I've notice more people coming back to Gears 2, I never left cause I just cannot get into Gears 3. i just do not like the look of it I feel theres more skill needed to play Gears 2 also, just my opion though.

It's funny when some people here saying that more people play GoW3 than any other gears game but it's easier to find Ranked game in GoW2 than GoW3.

Why would they go back to even laggier games? I enjoyed being host during the last month of gears 2 when I upgraded my Internet, but prior to that it was dreadful at times. As for Horde issius....not sure that is a big turnoff. Not many people I play gears with play horde much at all. Otherwise it's a typical game played online. They all have issues.

I like playing horde in Gears 2 and 3. The other multiplayer stuff is just a gnasher fest and gets old fast.

In gears 3 I played for a month or two than came back to gears 2 and I never looked back(I play gears 3 about a 10th of the amount I play Gears 2 now).
In gears 2 the rifles are way better balenced they were support weapons (and the gnasher was a slayer weapon) Now rifles are capable of fulfilling support and slayer roles which is not good for balence. The cover system was also a lot better and wallbouncing was slicker making battles even more intense.
Because killing someone was a lot harder in gears 2 than gears 3 killing someone made me feel more pumped up and that made me keep playing.

I owned GoW3 for less than a week - personally thought it was crap. Yes I still play GoW2 now and again, not as much as I'd like to due to TU6 shenanigans.

Lag and host shotguns sucks even more in Gears 2. As much as I as a lot of the maps I don't know that I want to go back to that crappy gameplay that I dealt with all those years.

yes players are going back to gears 2 i remember when gears 3 first came out and a little after that couldnt hardly find a match in gears 2 now playing gears 3 i noticed the numbers have dropped and when i went back to play 2 i started having no difficulties finding matches

I love how the players with little or no horde achievements diss this mode.You have not even gotten the achievement for staying alive for 20 waves,lol.... "issius?''........this could be a real "issue".....

i really liked gears 2 online but since 3rd came out i havent played #2. good memories but i wouldnt want to change the smoothness from gears 3 back to gears 2

I hate how in gears 3 u can kill people twice as many different ways as in gears 2. The ability to beat someone's skull for 30 seconds just isn't satisfying. Nor is The ability to stick my chainsaw in someone's ribcage or beat the brain matter out of there scull. Gears 2 has the ability for me to have a better connection than someone and wacking them in the face before I shoot them is just a rushhhh.

I don't wanna stir things up but really people???

When I got gears 2 for the first time and played multi player, I got addicted and played it like it was an MMO. I didn't take gears 2 out of my xbox for 2 full years almost. When I got gears 3 I played it non stop for about a month, then I got so bored. The game is too bright, and the gore that gears 2 had wasn't there. Gears 3 is a good game, but it isn't the same at all.

I play gears 2 way more than I play 3 now, but I really wish gears 2 was still the main game.

The isnt the issue the executions are fun and yes the 2 piece was and still is annoying but with the TU6 shotgun getting close enough to someone to 2 piece them became more and more difficult.

The issue here is how Gears3 rewards poor players using weapons which are made to be pick up and play, there is no need to master the game. In Gears 2 you couldn't do that and there was a sense of accomplishment in topping your team and you had to earn every kill

Yes, oh god I'm so happy I'm not alone on this. I was wondering where the soul of the game went. I used the lancer back when it was weak and ****, it just had a personality of its own that made me think different and feel unique. And also when you used the burst, it just felt classic, and tapping that trigger finger felt rewarding and special.

Gears now has the "modern" mortal kombat execution disease. That over the top stuff gets old after playing the game multiple times and it doesn't feel realistic like the classic simple execution in gears 1. Gears 2 was pushing it with some of the "extended" ones but it wasn't as bad as in gears 3
