    another iteration of my udk funtime.. it was formerly titled BabySitter and the wip video can be seen here http://youtu.be/n7peShsUXwA

    nothing here is 100% done, possibly the character animation. the level is build out of base tiles and will be much richer once the new set of windows, decoration and foliage is made...no enemies yet, just used the same character for gameplay tryouts...the idea is to lure the monsters ( by spawning limited number of candy ) near tall structures in order to squash them by jumping from the top...
    the ragdoll effects are just me having fun with the F key...i would like him to go ragdoll if he hits the wall while in the umbrella mode...working on it...

    I love that character! Do you have any high res screenshots of it? He's so ugly but so cute at the same time haha. And the animations are great. Especially that slow prance/walk. Awesome job so far!

    fantastic start. Artistic, technical and gameplay!

    The start of the video is a bit bothersome due to the shaking camera. Could have been a simple panning camera in matinee for a smooth result.

    Oh and you can get that annoying error message off screen. If you hit the letter 't' in the console the first result is "toggleallscreenmessages", tab, enter.

    Looking forward to updates and hopeful for future release.

    That is a game I'd surely buy. Reminds me a bit of Alice: Madness Returns, which I love.

    Big Grin Topsy-turvy fun! :D

    Very good atmosphere but the lighting is tighter bright, color-crazed textures/details, very dizzy about the first flyby setting and I lol'd with the character, its animation holding the umbrella is similar to Mary Poppins. Love this project mate!

    man, you saved my life!! i googled my ass of trying to find how to remove that camera shake? noted and will make the smooth animation in matinee next time

    the lighting will get better once i make the level more interesting so the shadows will streak across...

    hellooo

    here's a modest update. i have a looot of work to do so i just draw these concepts to relax..
    im trying to come up with monsters and im still playing around with basic ideas

    this one is not even a monster but it goes well with the style of the main character so i'll keep it..


    this guy could be a nice base for a few interesting variations like soldiers/snipers/heavy guns etc.. however, its not what i originally planned for this game but i'll see where it takes me... the only way to kill it is to land on it from a very high altitude thus cracking the helmet...shellmet? :S

    hi,
    i did these tiles according to a concept i made but unfortunately even with 2k textures the result in UDK was unsatisfying...i've found a more generic and faster ( but still ok ) approach later on..

    still, i won't abandon them completely..maybe i'll use it in some other project...
    the diff texture is quite basic for now...

    I never saw this project before, but it's really amazing. Beautiful models, and the gameplay seems really fun. Good luck!

    Fantastic work there !

    I dunno why you say the result is unsatisfying because it look fantastic. BTW, you can achieve stunning results with 1024 tx & yours look even better so don't be too hard on your results

    tnx! it's not that i dont like it, it turned out pretty well considering the complicated mesh but it really sticks out once i place it among the less complicated ( thus higher rez )tiles. and the time and resources i would spend making at least 20 more of those would be an overkill. i guess THAT was unsatisfying
    the new approach that uses vertex colors to mask layers of textures enables me to make much more tiles pretty quick and it will look fine once i add smaller decorative objects..
