Submission (Formerly known as Meat Flag) is the game-type that plays much the same as capture the flag except for the fact that the "flag" is actually a Stranded (human civilian) who will shoot and kill everyone trying to capture him. The goal is to down the stranded and use the human shield option to bring him to the designated area.

I always thought of this because the more the game modes, the better. But, it wasn't very popular back then and it hasn't been demanded in a long time because nobody cares about it and we already have Capture the Leader which is the updated better version of it.

Me too. Annex was my second most played game type in GoW2, behind Execution. I was really, really surprised to find that it wasn't in GoW3. Especially seeing they brought back CTL (Submission, basically) when that was the least played game type in GoW2. Originally Posted by Sleeveless Man

I absolutely loved submission. I played it constantly when my buddies would tolerate playing it with me in a team especially. I remember the 6x xp submission events. They were fun as hell. The catch phrases of the meat flags were awesome. Chaps would piss me off constantly with his super shotgun but it was still all good.
A lot of hate went towards that particular gametype for some reason. I always just said "well to each is own" and submission was my own. I was sad to see it go. CTL is obviously not submission but they still kept capturing the meat flag. Either way, if somehow, someway they could bring it back it would be fantastic. But if not, then oh well. I'm happy with gears 3 and I'll be playing this forever

Meat Flag was HORRIBLE in Gears 2. Made griefing a common strategy to farm XP. The only way they fixed that was by adding the time limit. No thanks, Gears 2 can keep Submission. CTL is so much better and much more fun, in my opinion.

This sounded like an exact description for Capture the Leader, but instead of taking them back to the base, you have to hold the leader until the timer goes down. Much better concept, IMO, because you can atleast intercept the person holding the leader easier.

Capture the Leader is a hybrid of the good parts of Guardian and Submission, it is not an "updated version" of Submission, I am honestly tired of people saying this. Originally Posted by DarkNinja

It won't happen. Guardian was brought back due to its widespread popularity. I kind of think that Epic brought it back so people would stop asking about it. I'm not complaining though, because I love Guardian. The popularity and demend just isn't there for Submission.

Yes and no. The thing with Submission is:
- We've already got an altered version of it (CTL)
- If Submission came back, people would demand Annex and Classic KOTH back, which could spread the playlists too thin (FoN playlists are majority bots...)
- EPIC would probably not bother re-programming the AI meatflag and ring locations etc.
If anything, Classic KOTH would be more practical. Just take the current KOTH, freeze the ring location and change the cap time to 120 (I think that was it)

Last I checked that is what CTL is now. A Mix of Guardian & Submission so why would we need it back?
