Freezing in game.

I have been suffering from a very annoying problem for the last week or so now. My game keeps freezeing up, normally i just think 'Ah every game freezes from time to time' BUT this does it every game and it freezes at certain points.

No problems when i get to the profile screen, no problems in the lobby and no problems on loading screens. The problem starts when the game is counting down and getting ready to start. It will freeze at around 12 or so seconds and then come back just as the game starts.
Then i come out of spawn and it freezes again. It doesnt freeze for long, maybe a few seconds but its enough to be annoying.
For example, i was on hotel and running to get sniper, i got to the bottom of the stairs by snipe and the game froze and then came back with me infront of 3 players from the locust team.

Is this happening to anyone else at all? It only seems to happen in Ranked so if it doesnt happen to anyone else or if Epic dont know anything about it then maybe my disc just needs a proper good clean. I just wanted to check here first

I'm in the same boat, it happens in either ranked and quickmatch in any gametype. I've got the Gears of War 3 limited edition console, along with everything from the season pass, and Gears of War 3 installed on the hardrive.

Any sort of answer here would be awesome y'know? 88 or so people have viewed the post and only 1 person has commented saying they have the same problem...little help here guys?

Freezing in versus isn't the only place where the game is freezing. Horde players have bee n complaining about the game freezing on them as well. Sometimes it freezes on wave 5 and then others it freezes at wave 39, etc...

This has been happening for months to the point where the diehard horde players have quit playing. Frustrating when you are well on your way to a million plus score and it freezes losing the several hours that have been put in to achieve that score.

it only seems to happen when im playing with friends that have a limited NAT, so im thinking when you play horde and so on that could be it

To date, I have frozen in ALL game modes, I am down 5 high scores in horde, and we have done several top 10 arcade mode scores that just didn't save for some reason. If this game wasn't so awesome, I would have cracked the disc in half and moved on. I went from 1-2 or more insane horde runs daily, to not having done an insane run in weeks. Quite frustrating.

Ive made myself a back up, i got reset once before (luckily restarting my xbox put my rank back, very odd) so i didnt wanna chance it happening again. Its just annoying becasue it even happens when im in private games, so when i scrim theres like 5+ seconds where my game is frozen at the start. Its proper annoying

Make sure your game is installed to your hard drive. It might freeze/pause less if it doesn't have to take the time to constantly read the disc.
