    Post Jragon Character Skin

    Name: Jragon Character Skin
    Version: Final (Yet it is unintensionally 2.0. Now it is final)
    Compatibility: Unreal Tournament 2004 patch 3369
    Description: This was my second custom character. Jragon is the character I use, and he's pretty much a dragon Gen Mo'Kai with some Anime armor thrown in the mix. CTF2 team color (Red and Blue) is supported only. 4512 triangles.
    Comments: Made with Blender, GIMP, UModel, 3DS Max, and UnrealEd.

    I think this one is your best model from all those you posted today.
    But I think it would have been better if the wings were closed and closer to the model. Some maps like Rankin have narrow paths (the vents) and outstanding character parts like the wings in this case go through the BSP or static meshes which looks odd. It also makes the character easier to see. I know that online the probability to see someone with a custom character on a server which you have as well is very little but for LAN games where both players might have the character but only one uses it, it would give the player using the "big" model a disadvantage as it makes him an easier target - even if the collision cylinder is still the same size.
    Just an advice for your next models.

    I want to figure out how to add the bones for the wings so they can fold in. 3DS max is something I need to look further into.

    Downloading! This looks seemingly like a Gen Mo'Kai character with dragon's wings and that is some medium polys for this character as well.

    wow! nice to see something original
    most of custom characters for ut2004 are ports or remakes, or just look awful
    this one looks very well. keep up the good work!
    I want to figure out how to add the bones for the wings so they can fold in.
    i saw that some chars with non-standard skeletons (like Raptor model or JunkMesh model) come with .ka files which are XML documents that contain information about characters' bones, i think
    btw, have you submitted your files to the gamefront? because if you haven't they might delete them...

    I Don't believe Gargoyle has custom animations for the wings. I wanted to try and change the animations of Alien.psa in 3ds Max to include wing animation, but I'd have to look into a bunch of 3ds Max stuff first. Probably not gonna happen unless I start using 3ds Max more.

    Version 2 is up through the link from dropbox. Download at your leisure. The texture is greatly improved, there is a concept art portrait, and there was a fix with the goggles having the wrong normals.

    I didn't intend to make a second version, but I found myself a little disappointed by the way the original detail got "washed out"...especially the symbols and rust. Since I use it all the time, I decided that the skin deserved a do-over. So here it is.

    To do this you will need to do new animations, because it will stop using gen mo'kai animations & skeleton then, and UT2004 has a lot of anims, that was not going to be easy lol, or... Maybe you could se the bones with the same names, but do new animations just for jumping/dodging/such things, or if you want to they move even while walking/swimming, then you will need to redo all animations, i'm not sure about this, i'm pretty bad at modeling, i'm doing a new vehicle with a custom mesh (my first one), but i'm having bard times with bones and such things xD
