Do you want to go back to the old Gem Forging cost?

Gem forging was one of the things that has made this game so fun since the 1.1 update. Trying to forge better and better gems has kept me engrossed in the game. I personally haven't updated (and won't update) to 1.1.1, but others aren't so lucky. With this update, each month of gem forging costs $10,000 instead of the old $1,000. For lower cost gems, this doesn't really matter, as you can just wait it out or use the end of rebirth trick to accelerate it, but for the gems that take 20 years to forge, there's no way I'm waiting 5 days just because the cost to produce the gem is ALMOST 5 TIMES THE SALE VALUE. We need a solution to this from Chair in a new update. Go back to the old gem forging costs! Don't try these underhanded tactics to get us to pay for IAPs, as you'll alienate your active player base. If I'm wrong about your reasons for doing this, please, respond to this with an explanation. I'm just not seeing any other reason for it.

Players, please respond to this poll to get the developers to listen to us.

Reduce it to 5 000 cash per month. 1 000 is too low 10 000 is too high.

And I'd like to skip time another way for lower cost than skipping whole time in one use, for example half of time required (fast forward 2x for time)

It works fine. You don't have to be on the same version for each. you can even have different iOS versions. my iPad 3 is on iOS 5.1 (duh) while my iPod touch 4G is still on 5.0.1. gotta keep my jailbreak!

Haha. It seems like that could be a solution for this though. Have one device updated that you play on normally, the other that you forge on. Granted, you'd have to have two devices to play on.

gem forging has already costed me millions... now i'm nearly broke so i'm downgrading. shouldn't have upgraded without checking the forum first =\

There must be some sort of compromise. The cost of completing a gem forge has gone up 1000%, which is ridiculous. This is forcing the weak minded players to either stop playing, or force them to buy IAP's. If you don't want us to skip the process, then remove it all together, so the only option is in-game time combined with real life time. There would be no arguments then and we could carry on with the game instead of worrying whether to spend money on weapons/potions or finishing a forge faster.

This would make us play MORE because the time decreases significantly each RB - 6 months if you have already killed the deathless.

The only problem with that is the gems that take 20 years to forge. I'd need to go through a ton of RBs to get through them.

20 years? Good lord. Longest I've seen was around 3 years, that said, I never forge a gem that has a value of $500k again as I wouldn't be making any profit and money is scarce in NG!

Yeah when you try to re-forge gems that are already at $500k or forge multiple of those gems together the time skyrockets. You know you're getting something really good when the time gets that high

Is that always the case though Lewis? If it takes ~20 years and end up getting a parry damage titan 9** gem, I wouldn't say that's worth it, especially when there's no financial gain, it could be me though, I often feel like I need something extra to make it really worth while!

This thread has gotten kinda off-topic, but the answer to your question is there's a lot of variables at play, including the stat and type of your $500k gem. I would have to agree with you that the value in combat of a Parry = 9xx Damage is less than that of others (only because I already have a 999 one), but the system disagrees with you. A Parry = 999 Damage is the best gem available according the the Gem Forging rules, and you'll always end up there if you just randomly forge. Now for monetary gain, I would like to see the $500k cap increased, but when you're forging a 20 year gem, it's a damn good bet that you're not forging for money, that you're purposely trying to increase the stat of the gem. Does that answer your question?

Chair, it has been 48 hours since I originally posted this thread. There is almost nobody on this forum that is satisfied with how you're forcing in-app purchases down our throats, as you can see from the results of this poll. Even the one dissenter wants to change the pricing from your current method! Please, respond to us, let us know that you actually care about your users and not just making money. I'd hate to see an astounding game series go down the drain like so many others. An official response to this is all that I'm asking for right now. Please.

It's possible that they just made an error when they created the update that raised prices. Until the next update or official word from Chair, I will be hopeful that this is the case.

I actually don't mind the new prices. As someone else pointed out, Chair probably didn't intend gem forging to be the money printing machine that it turned into. The $500K cap is one indication of that. What I would like to see reversed is that the quality of gems goes up slower now. Keep the prices, but the old gem progression would make it worth it.

I'm hopeful too but the lack of any official response says this is trying to force us into buying gold. Don't they know that pushing us into a corner will just piss us off? Personally I'd be more likely to buy the gold if I felt it would give me that extra boost I need, not that I absolutely need to have it to do anything.

This is completely unacceptable. There has been no official response from anyone on this issue. With no acknowledgement at all after days of complaints and many (if not all) of your normal forum users complaining, I'm inclined to think that Chair thinks we'll just get used to it. Since the only thing that Chair seems to care about anymore is money, I'm asking that everyone who is upset with this give a 1-star rating on the app store (and a negative review if you can) until there is at least some response, some talk of compromise. This may seem drastic, but it seems the only way to get attention around here.

Chair, all we want is some acknowledgement here that you care about the opinions of your players. To be completely ignored like this is outrageous. We're all reasonable here, just show us you're willing to compromise and deal with the issue.

Okay, I agree with the fact that this is outrageous, but asking for everyone unhappy with it to give it 1 star in the AppStore? Come on. You and I both know that this is NOT a 1 star game...

I completely agree with you, but it seems like being reasonable in our response to this hasn't gotten us anywhere. When we at least get some response, we can change our reviews back. The game may be 5-star quality, but the support isn't, and that counts for a lot.
