    Default Unreal flash weapon remake

Some of you might have heard of or played the little flashgame "Unreal Flash". While die-hard Unreal fans might say that is does not have anything in common with Unreal or Unreal Tournament and therefore does not deserve it's name, I still like the game pretty much.
Especially the weapons are what I like about this game. They may or may not be very balanced, but they are simple and effective and to my mind have a very good feeling to them. (sounds and looks and ownage feeling )

So, would anyone like to remake them for UT2004? It would only take comparatively easy coding work as there is no complicate stuff such as reloading involved. Only remaking the 2d weapons in 3d could be a small challenge. I would take to job of getting all the sounds together and trying to find the author of the game to ask for permission.

So, if someone would agree to do it, I'd start to do my part and if you want, I'll also make a list of the features of each gun aswell as get pictures so you don't have to play through the whole game if you don't want to.

Here are some example screenshots of the game:

I would recommend the weapons from Unreal Flash II, I love the saw gun in it, I would love to make the Unreal Flash weapons but first I must get more knowledge on how to use blender, do you know where I can get a manual for Blender?
(You are not the only one who has played Unreal Flash, I have played all 3 of them)

Hehe well I thought the guns in Unreal flash 2007 and Unreal Flash 3 were partly too much like their counterparts from the actual UT games (I.e. a shock rifle and bio rifle etc.).

But concerning blender, I think there should be many good tutorials out there. Just have google work for you a bit.

I actually suggest you to find tutorials on youtube and train yourself based on these tutorials. I found some tutorials and I could make awesome stuff with.
I can also provide additional help in that area, though modeling them isn't the sole requirement, you need also to learn how to UV map (not fun) how to animate and rig.
with this you can pretty much only need a coder / texturer to complete your work, or try to find motivated people and create a team.

When you start to master some elemenst you can find help in the blender wiki, some stuff is explained here.

Hmm, maybe a coder can do some prototype weapons first that just reflect the behaviour and sounds? That would help a lot!

If someone is interested to create a such mod. Actually unreal flash mod weapons might be easy for a beginner to model and animate since UT2004 doesn't use hands. I just can say that I can provide advices and help with modeling with blender.
if Dy1ngs0ul is interested into modeling and starts to take the basics I will provide advices and help so the model will be certain to work and be ready to be integrated ingame

Well, sure - give it a try if you want. Actually I started to model that grey grenade launcher myself, though I still struggle to get the hang of blender...

The one from UF1. This is how it looks like right now...

Oh and Sly. helped me a lot with blender. He therefore deserves credit too.

EDIT: For whatever reason Epic deletes that image again and again... uploaded to imageshack now.

I thought this thread died lol
Well you will have to learn the basics.
Though ask away I will answer and give my own tips to you.
I do use blender 3d for modeling uvmapping, rigging and animating

First things first: I need to know how to model on blender, like make just a simple weapon, with smooth curved edges etc... just the basic modelling, that is all I ask for, probably may ask for animations and special effects help in the future, if I can just get basics, then that can allow me to start making mods. I can see this weapons remake mod is going to be a community job, Baryonyx starting on it, soon me a little noob lol

In first place you have to learn about extruding, add stuff manipulate the stuff.
I think making the rocket launcher should be easy
@ baryonix avoid to use the subsurf on your models it's bad, and makes them high poly for nothing, also you will have trouble when is will come to the UV mapping.

I personally don't think that's the right way to get a gun, subsurf is a bad technique. If you want to get experience and make a gun use classic extraction and scale.
http://www.runestorm.com/forums/view...p?f=74&t=74891 this tutorial might help you.
Unreal flash weapons are simplistic for most of them.
Don't forget that UV mapping isn't something fun and if the gun have useless weird surfaces, it will be worse.

    This is the correct picture.

Well indeed pretty basic, but at least one can identify it as a pistol...

Yeah, it is just a basis, I would really call it a trigger mechanism, a starting ground to build over it to build like a kind of shotgun or assault rifle, or a pistol.
Like this ugly shotgun, if I can get the picture up:

Me and a few friends are working on a project, so these are our images

I think you should try to put some bevel on borders.
his models are basic, yes, but that can be a good start for a beginner.
If you want to know some stuff I can help.
