From Dedicated To Host Servers?

hey guys, so ive been playing on dedicated servers since they released them, then all of a sudden i cannot get into a dedicated server, this has been only happening for the last 2 weeks. I have all the packs bought, but for the last few weeks it takes 20 mins to find a game and it puts me into a laggy hosted server. i tried deleting all the packs and re downloading them but it hasent worked. when i play with a few other friends they host and can get into a dedicated server no problem, this is why i think it has something to do with my profile or maybe epic is having troubles? this is extremely frustrating seeing as i spend over 100 dollars to play this game and it craps out on me like this, so any info regarding this issue would be much appreciated!

Even though DS are up, you still have a chance of playing on a Host connection.

And, DS simply act as a mutual host, they don't make the connections perfect.

yeah i understand that but whats with the connection speed? instant one day, slow as hell the next? the fact im the only green level player playing with a bunch of low levels on the old maps only?

I would call your ISP and ask to check your connection. Maybe your ISP is having some troubles on their end.

A theron Gaurd Sponged all my boomshots in Overpass, and That guy when 23-2. While everybody else went to a regular score.

1. I thought Overpass was taken out from DS
2.3 Sponged boomshots all shot at him and hit him
3. He had a way outstanding score

Overpass is back in the rotation.

i called xbox support spent 3 hours on the phone with them.. opened my NAT, opened up the ports, deleted and redownloaded all map packs, redownloaded my profile i did it all and problem still isnt fixed. checked my ping and my internet is running perfectly.. starting to doubt if the problem is on my end.. step your game up epic!

You should call your ISP to check your connection and not talk with the stupid MS support who doesn't know anything but thx for the laughs ...

hahaha no problem the MS guy was quite helpful.. its been kind of fun hostin a game and having my shotgun hit like a truck, starting to loose its pazaz now tho. scheduled an appointment with SHAW (my ISP) ill keep everyone updated with what they say maybe they can solve this.

Oh my god...finally somebody else has the same problem as me. I'm playing on p2p games for the last 4 weeks and I was able to play on dedicated servers before last DLC Forces of nature...Epic must do something for solving this issue becuase p2p connections are really lagged(Unplayable). I also have all the map packs, no nat type errors, my connections is good so I don't understand why I can't join the servers.

Try www.Speedtest.net from a computer. Try the test on the same line direct to the modem with nothing else attatched. Allow it it to cycle through the program.. If the Milliseconds change after a few tests it could be a signal issue. If the download speed you have been promised is not there or if there is signal dropout in the graph commonly there is a line issue. If the upload is not what you are promised there may be an issue. Contact your ISP to test it out.

I have found that from a DSL or cable modem to an ethernet "HUB" works best wired with a lead running to the hub. Then from the hub to the Xbox. Then from the hub to your router used for your computer systems. Sharing the Modem this way means that you get the best of both worlds. Great speed if its available for the Xbox and your computer systems remain protected via the router. Wireless can be done in a similar fashion cheaply.

Keep in mind there seem to be alot of people seem complaining about the dedicated servers lately.

Same here, i'm in canada too, which seems to be the only common thing between this bug. i'll try clearing my system cash and see what that does

Well now it's back..... can someone shine some light on this? I cant even get hosted servers anymore, it always puts me in with bots.

I had this issue (see my started threads).
I fixed it by resetting my router back to factory defaults and then reconfiguring it to back to what it was.
Dunno why, but it fixed it.

Not trying to insult anyone, but honest question: why does this site even have bug reporting past the beta? No one here knows anything about Microsofts GoW servers besides trial and error. It's a bit misleading calling it "Gears of War 3 issues" when it's pretty much "Gears of War 3 Community Help"

Anyone know where to find actual technical help?

Good luck with that. For some dumb reason some days my NAT is open and other days its Moderate. I haven't made any changes to my router or settings.. I've been dumb founded by this!!!!
