Default Imported static mesh disappears in game

    Hi

I'll admit I'm a noob to UDK - and probably not starting in the best place, but I have resources from an existing project (not UDK) that I'm trying to get into UDK. To do this I'm writting a fbx exporter for my in-house developed mesh editor.

On simple meshes, everything appears to work (I get a message about no smoothing groups, but from other posts I gather that that just means that the importer may do something inappropriate, rather than not work). I do an import, get a static mesh in the browser, can add it to the scene, apply a material - and everthing looks fine - in the editor.

If I then do a rebuild all and 'Play from here' to get into the scene, the mesh has disappeared.

I guess I'm doing something stupid - any suggestions as to what?

(The mesh has vertices, normals and a single UV map)

save the mesh package after importing then add the mesh to map then rebuild and save map then play
