It's pretty, but it's much too wide for most browser window sizes. Now I have to scroll horizontally, or resize browser window to be wider than it is tall, and posting or reading is very annoying in widescreen -- the lines are way too long to read comfortably.

Have you tried a different theme? Those may have other sized headers.

Thanks, good advice. The default vBulletin theme works as intended. Text windows are resized according to the browser width, and not limited by the new widescreen IB2 header graphic.
