Default low-res textures from high-res source problem [IMAGES] [Solved]

It's weird problem. I have a TARGA texture 1024x1024 which looks great when viewed by QuickTime Player but as soon as I import it to the engine it going to look very, very bad (looks like whole texture resized to 256x256) however the texture preview in engine says it's 1024x1024 but preview looks very bad. For the best knowing of problem take a look at these pictures:

At first we compare models from Epic and imported by me:

Someone can think it's a model problem and it (model) has got wrong uv map scale or whatever. NO, take a look at this:

    And:

I have tried to convert TARGA to PNG - the same problem. I've imported that church (first screen) model week before new set and It seems to me it was okay (the textures were as I wanted). What should I do now?

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

    Solution:

If you occuring bad textures in-game simply go to your Graphic card control center and go to "performance" tab. Check every tab to be "application setting" then at:
Catalyst A.I (Quality of texture sampling) to Medium [Set this to be at center or at maximum if your video card is strong enough, otherwise you can see those poor textures)
    AntiAliasing (As above)

    You can't have those two:
    Catalyst A.I (aka. Texture sampling)
    AntiAliasing
-to be minimum, otherwise bad low-resolution textures will appear.

Epic has done a lot of tweaking I. The materials. Did you just plug the texture straight into the diffuse slot?

ok what you have to be careful with when importing textures is the LOD setting, this setting helps the engine to scale the texture to your computers hardware, don't forget you also need the specular and normal textures to imporve the look, also take a look at some of the epic material setups to see if you can match thier quality

Thank you very much! I'll take close look at that LOD you mentioned at the import. I'm using always (as far as it's possible - time, mood or actual software) normal maps so the bump maps or specular texture improvement can be excluded from the texture problem so that LOD maps can be the main issue, thanks!

Also, it's not my first material import. I just got scared because this time it looked terrible. It never happened to me before and I couldn't find what the problem is. That's why I created this topic. Again, thanks for quick reply.

Where's that LOD settings exactly? I found one, but it looks ok... :/

At this stage we can reject those solutions:

    -Source problems
-Low settings / Graphic card render optimization = Other models looks great.
    -Wrong UV map
-Normal / specular maps or scaling material in Mat editor
    -Export issue = No problems
    -Import issue = No problems

I don't know what to do... BUT! Wait, I have two ideas! I've updated graphic card drivers three days ago. Last time I been on UDK was a day before update. Then the issue appeared, but other models looks ok. So, I'll upload model + texture here. Please, someone import it to UDK and see on it's own. I also check my graphic card properties.

On texture properties, check Global Force Mip Levels To Be Resident.

None of those settings affect mips. Mipmap quality however downsizes all textures to the next mip level if you set it under "quality".
