    Default HOw to remove Textfield/ words from the UDKFrontEnd Menu

    Hello Everyone,

    I´d like to start buy saying that I don´t not really dwell in the Scaleform realms so please do expect some strange stuff from my side....
    I´d like to ask Matt Doyle (if availabe) or any other kind soul....How can I remove text from the UDKFontendMenu, what I´d like is to remove the text entries/ words: MUTATORS and MULTIPLAY.
    I´ve looked in the GFXUDKFrontEnd.uc, GFXUDKFrontEnd_Mutators.uc, GFXUDKFrontEnd_HostGame.uc, GFXUDKFrontEnd_LaunchGame.uc, comented out key elements in th relevante classes.
    SO; WHILE I could manage to keep the MUTATORS (for instance) button from going to its sub menu, I cannot remove the word.
    Could somebody please educate this unbeliever

    That text is very likely in the text field in the actual Flash file. Be careful about editing the Flash files though, as if you don't do it correctly, you may break the UI. Be sure to add the classpaths that these files use to your Flash AS2 preferences.

    to Matt Doyle:

    Could you please help me learn this step cause it seems to be simple but I can´t get it to happen,
    and I´ve got pretty evrything ready for the final Cooking, I ´d really greatfull for your interesset.

    I´m not from an English speaking country, so please bare with me.

    --I followed the instructions above but with C:\UDK\UDK-2012-03\Development\Flash\AS3\CLIK\ path I got loads of errors as it could access the
    refered lib/functions needed.

    Changed it to AS2\CLIK, errors stoped.

    So RECAP: I would liketo either/ or hide, remove , the options/words SETTINGS, Mutators from the menu.

    1- I´ve opened (used EDIT) the Mutators movie clip found in the library ( wheeled shaped icon ).
    1.2 - activated the MENU layer and went EDIT to access all stuff/layer within;
    1.3- Hid itens 1 thru 7
    2- went back to the scene level, saved n published
    3- Nothing changed

    4 - I redid the above steps except 1.3 for which I edited "menuitem_Mutatorinfo" and hid the layer Texfield (in other tries I entered a name in the blank label name).
    followed the Getting Started with CLIK 1-14 vids)



    5- Saved and Published into CS5 format./ late published to CS4
    6- Nothing changed man i´m worried

    4- I noticed that in the Instant action.fla, the action script refers to

    //container.instant_action.menu.list.dataProvider = ["GAME MODE", "MAP", "SETTINGS", "MUTATORS", "START GAME"];

    is there a way to take "SETTINGS", "MUTATORS" out of the equation via this script? or via .UC files ?


    Again, I´d really be in debt of gratitude if you got me through this.


    I´m really more confortable with the old (fashioned) IUScenes (though they lack a lot compared to Scalform/flash), but I´d really like to learn this, since the frontend menu is
    so good.
