Help on Forging 3 New Gems to become 1 Gem

Can someone please help me to a better understanding of this forging feature? I tried to put in 3 same gems and I saw the 1 month and 30 minutes flashing and start now.

What do those mean?

Means the gem making process time. The longer the time, the "better" gem you are going to get-depends on what you put in.
Just click start, then the gem making process will begin.
You can either wait up to several hours for the new gem to complete or pay some gold for the instant process.
I always pay myself. (dont have the patience to wait)

Unfortunately no. There is some sort guideline but no certain recipe, so have o look at the gem threads.
