    Default ground/terrain

Hello, I was wondering what is more costy CPU wise,
A basic terrain with multiple layers (which btw i hate because of the blend between textures),
or a huge plane with not many polygones but with a huge texture.
I am thinking about that because with a normal texture you can create hard edges between two textures which grants great results, but does udk support big textures such as 2024x2024 or more?

UDK does support large textures such as 2048x2048.
