Forcing me to use Marcus in Horde

Sometimes the game forces me to play as Marcus Fenix regardless of who I choose as the character when I'm trying to play private horde. Is there a fix for this? It almost always happens after I play a few rounds and lose, then I back out to the menu screen and pick a new map and character. As soon as the new session starts, I'm Marcus Fenix for some reason. I've searched the internet as well as this forum with no results. Thanks for your time.

Update: I've tried almost a dozen times this morning. Every time I pick hardcore wave 1, no mutators, Blood Drive, Recruit Clayton Carmine, loading time and then....I'm Marcus Fenix. Kind of frustrating.

Only happens to me on join-in-progress games.

I've heard of a few other people with your problem though.

Thanks for the heads up. I can understand joining in progress, I just don't get it when i'm playing private solo. I'll try playing offline and see if that makes a difference.

Are you changing your character in the Horde lobby, or changing it from the main menus, then starting Horde? I tried to get the Zeta Team, Go! achievement with some friends a couple weeks back, we all changed our characters while in the lobby and 3 or 4 of us started as Marcus (don't remember if the host got a Zeta member). Didn't try backing out to the main menu, setting characters there and recreating the Horde lobby.

It only affects me when I play splitscreen however and has only been happening since the release of FoN.

had this happen, don't know why it happens, but sometimes does. Some hosts seem to do it more than others for some reason. I haven't seen any kind of explanation, not sure if there's one around.

I'm selecting the character in the horde pregame lobby. Just tried again to use Recruit Clayton Carmine and again it loads up Marcus Fenix. This is weak.

I've tried loading up with these settings: hardcore, no mutators, Recruit Clayton Carmine. He loads up just fine on other maps, but when I try to load with Blood Drive, Marcus Fenix comes up. I've even tried with different characters and they all load just fine, but I go back to try with Recruit Clayton Carmine and Marcus Fenix comes up instead. What is up with this?

Can someone else try to load up Blood Drive hardcore, no mutators with Recruit Clayton Carmine and see if it does the same thing?

Sorry for the double post. There is definitely something wrong with this game since FoN was released. I never had issues like this before. Now at least 80% of the time I try to play private horde I get Marcus Fenix regardless of the character I choose. I don't want to have to reload the damn thing 5X before Augustus Cole finally comes up on Insane horde, no mutators, Hotel. I haven't played CoD in over 5 months because I WAS having fun with this game, but this is going back on the shelf until the next update comes out. If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know, because I do enjoy this game when it works the way it should.

Small update, for some reason, the maps and characters seem to be loading with no hiccups these last couple of days. Knock on wood.

quick question, do you have the fenix rising dlc? if you do, did you originally download them on your current xbox?

And to answer the other question, Yes I do have the fenix rising dlc and it is downloaded on my xbox.
