After experiencing a screen freeze, quitting during a loading screen, leaving a match while it's uploading stats, or any of the other suspected methods of having your player data file corrupted do the following:
> Start your Xbox console, and stay on the dashboard.
> Go to the far right blade on the dashboard
> Select "System
> Select "Storage"
> Select [HDD which stores your Gears 3 data]
> Select "Games and Apps"
> Select "Gears of War 3"
> Look for "Player Data(Saved Game): [Your Gamertag]
> If the Player Data file has the Infected Omen next to it, check the file size.
If you have Re-Upped:
>If it's 68 KB and you have Re-Upped you're fine.
>If it's less than 68 KB and you have Re-Upped, delete it and follow the next step.
If you have not Re-Upped:
>If it's 64 KB and you've never Re-Upped you're fine.
>If it's less than 64 KB, delete it and follow the next step.
> If the Player Data file has a yellow exclamation mark next to it and the file is labeled "corrupted" select it and delete it.
> After deleting the file, start Gears 3. After playing (1) match, your console will create a new file from the existing server one.
This prevents the possibility of a corrupted file on your console overwriting the one on the server. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. You should add to the thread to never turn your Xbox off when your screen freezes. Instead dashboard it by hitting the eject button on your Xbox to eject the game disk. This will bring you to the Xbox dashboard and will prevent many resets.
