Questionable Hammerbursts lately???

I have been running into some pretty sick HB's lately. Not just fast firing HBs, I mean I can fire the thing pretty fast, but fast and with a perfectly consistent rate of fire every time they engage.

I don't think mods are all that common personally (at least not as common as people would like to believe), but I do feel like it's gotten to a point where I can definitely spot when they're being used.

I'm just curious as to how common people think rapid fire controllers are, and do you feel like it's easy to spot one?

I think people who cry out "modded controller" everytime they get owned by a Hammerburst are just plain stupid. Some guy sent me a hate message saying "nice mod you stupid N-Word!" I wasn't even tapping the trigger, I WAS HOLDING IT DOWN. -smh-

Anyways, they're not as common as people make them out to be. I play with numerous people who cry out mods everytime they get owned by a HB. It's like, these people refuse to believe that people can have good trigger fingers, everyone just has to have a mod. It's sad, really.

It's pretty easy to spot, imo. The one guy I've gone up against in Gears 3 using a modder controller was firing his HB like it was a P90 with Rapid Fire.

You can definitely tell when its a modded because the hammer will basically be a beam on you since they don't need to tap the trigger and compensate aim with no trouble

I've only run into a handfull of modded controllers but when you do they hurt

ive had a few kills with the hammerburst and ive got (what i would consider) a pretty decent trigger finger but defiantly not the best. i think some people just arent used to the fact a gun can fire as fast as your finger and are too used to auto's so havent had enough practice. i think modded controllers are quiet rare (well in the UK they seem to be)

its just a really powerful gun. when multiple people are using it on the other team I struggle to move around.

It is a powerful gun but there people with no skill so they use the mod. It is funny because they complain when they get beat by a trigger finger.

I haven't had too much trouble with hammerbursts or any specific weapon for that matter. I seem to die to just about everything but I don't think I've seen a modded hammerburst in a while.

They do exist. Exist in every game. However the sheer numbers isn't as high as people make it out to be. I can say I only met 2 that I can 100% say had modded controllers. Max rate of fire, always AR (were wallbouncing + getting ARs every time). What gave them away was when they switched guns (picked up Lancer) you could visually see the delays between shots. And they failed every Lancer reload.
This was in the same match.

Like everyone has said there don't seem to be too many. I've only seen a couple that i'm confindent where actually using them. I know one of them was for real because i sent him a message expressing my displeasure and he responded confirming it and was quite proud of it. It's sad those people exist but they are few. i agree that most are just mad that they got beat by a Hammerburst. It's my go to rifle in almost every game.

I only asked because I notice lately once people get beat by a good HB, they are quick to leave games.

I almost feel like the mere existence of rapid fire makes for a convenient excuse for people to leave games.

And just for the record, I have an old Evil Controller laying around that I never use anymore (Used it on RSV2 WAYYYY back in the day for lulz). It works on Gears, but it doesn't make controlling a weapon any easier. I actually find it easier to control recoil without a mod.

And before anyone screams that I'm the problem with this game, look at the "I never use anymore bit", and the fact that I have 6k+ Lancer kills, and about 350 non-Stay Frosty related HB kills.

Keep in mind one of the reasons we are seeing less modded Hammerbursts of late is that a lot of those people are now switched over to the Retro to work on that medal. Its pretty obvious the people that are still using the mod while firing that gun instead. I have asked a couple of random teammates recently that I suspected of using a mod with the Retro and they confirmed they use it to help control how wild the thing fires. One of them said he sets his to burst and changes the rate of fire and he can just hold in the trigger and own people, not to mention how much more effective it appeared to be at long range. I watched him do it. I have to say, it was major BS!

I don't think there are that many mods about. I may find somebody who's HB seems a bit shifty but I wouldn't go as far as accusing them of using one. I'd just try and stay out the way.

But the last few days I have been aware that my HB seems incredibly powerful and very fast firing. I got about 3 or 4 messages accusing me of having a mod and in a way, I didn't blame them. It got to the point where I didn't even bother using my Gnasher at all. I got a rampage just using my HB and then I ran out of bullets. I was quite proud of that.

Only using the HB didn't really help my 'I'm not using a mod' argument though...

To be honest, I noticed the same thing the last few days. Never got rampage with it, nice work. The HB just seemed to be a lot better. I thought they must have changed something, but apparently not.

Perhaps all of the Hammerburst users that have noticed a change have all simultaneously developed stronger finger muscles? Maybe we've all reached the point where 8 months of using the Hammerburst has started to benefit us. We'll need it for those Retroers.

When you see a modded controller, the hammerburst almost looks like a laser rifle or something. Most of the people here who are crying about modded controllers haven't actually seen one. They are those, who never even touched a semi-auto weapon and can't get over the fact that hammer-burst is the best thing for downing players at mid-range, best rifle for long-range engagement and just about the only thing, that can tackle retro and stand a chance at far close-range (disregard explosives). Hammerburst downs a bit faster than the lancer with active, even better, at any range.

I think if the tracers look like a laser beam and it's pin point accurate, it's a good sign it might be a modded. I don't dispute the fact that people are straight up nasty with legit HB use. You can tell if the suspected player is not legit when they have a really high rank and seem to be garbage at every other aspect of the game except HB use.

This is my confession. I was playing in a match against a group of Comical Try-Hards in a ranked match. I naturally have an extremely fast trigger finger. For the first two rounds the enemy team got demolished by my team until I got a disturbing message saying, "nice mod b****". Every round after that, the Comical Try-Hards became MLG Rapid Fire Sponsors. Just because they "assumed" I had a mod, their whole team pulled out their evil controllers.

some ppl say they arent as common but a rapid fire controller where u can change the fire rate and auto reload rate is easier to obtain than most ppl think. i dont use one because ireally dont take games seriously to have to cheat to win but i have seen first hand at a friends house what they are capable of. asked where he got it from and his reply was "oh gamestop sells them for 20 bux brand new". so there actually may be more ppl than you think that have them. most ppl i know that have them actually bought it for other games like COD. but when the decided to pick up gears 3 for the first time, all it takes is a cpl seconds to change the fire rate on them....hell the one i saw in person could be hooked up to a pc and the manufacturer actually has firmware updates to add new game presets. smh
