Dumb down the HB? That's a recipe for another Retro. The only reason many of us use it know is because we've overcome the 'difficulty' in the first place. It downs you in well over a second...that's time enough to take cover or move. Its very difficult to down a laterally moving target with the HB.

It's not overpowered, and arguably less effective than either Lancer variant.

Then you must suck with it, and probably hold down the trigger. Maybe if you tap it fast then you can discover its true power. Ive been killed by modded hammy's all the time and there are fingers just like a mod, and why use it anyways? I mean the lancer has been there since gears 1, i know hammerburst has but not as a start off..

Im not sure why youare typing, "lol" when you are misinformed. If you were here since "day 1", and played Somuch, you would know the hb in gears 1 was a 6 round burst and not a 3 round burst as you said here.

I think you should make it like gears 1, a 3 burst and take the retro out. .

Further, EPIC stated themselves the burst fire was removed and the hammerburst changed in firing method due to balancing issues. So whatever you think you know doesn't matter, because the fact is That's why it was removed. How much you play doesn't change the fact you are wrong.

Not to mention what I said here about the hammerburst...

The gears 3 version is much weaker up close only hitting full damage at long range. It's not even close to being OP, inside of midrange it takes 10 rounds to put someone down, which is half the magazine.

Is not up for debate. It's a fact.


The HB is not OP and they are not going to nerf it.

Competitive GoW adopted the lancer because on LAN the HB was absurdly good, to the point that the lancer was just about obsolete. In standard versus lancer was default, and was easier because we all know how much a pain online could be somedays, the huge clip worked..when the bullets registered in time

Yea thats LAN servers im pretty sure no 1 here was talking about that. Im talking online gears 1, which meant it lagged unless you are host and it even sucked on host.

Nobody used it because it was difficult to master. It did NOT suck. It was one of the most OP guns in Gears 1.

And NFI is correct on the burst. I think you need to replay the game.
