Bump!
We would love to have some rigger/animator, texture/2D artist, concept artist, level designer of beginner level to join our ranks!
Our team has already grown to 7 members.
Hey there,
I have been active on these forums for quite some time helping people with issues in UDK so I would say that I know a bit about UDK and how to optimize the games performance. I have caught myself troubleshooting in game bugs and fix them fairly quickly. But that is not my overall skill, my job is a 3D modeler (props/some weaponry), texture artist, environment artist, rigging/animation.
I have used Blender3D for modeling but I have switched the 3DS Max withing the past few weeks, I have already learned how to use the program fairly well. I have been occasionally trying animation in it and exporting to UDK figuring out the process. I have figured it out, but I am not much of an animator just yet, I have currently an Animation student at Uni but I haven't yet mastered the Skinning and Weighting process. I am working on it, but I do make Models and Textures, I'm working on increasing my character modeling skill but that'll take awhile still. I have made some really nice looking textures I'd say and have been working on a few projects but none that have been released. I would love to work on a project that will actually be finished and released in order to increase my skills and get my name out in the industry.

I'm interested. I'm also a beginner to UDK and I don't know what to do. But what exacly is what you need?
WE need animators, character modellers and a 2D artist.
I am a concept artist and 2D artist, and may be interested. What is the plot? Any GDD or other document? Any progress to show?
Same to you
i think i could fill in one of the following roles:
-props artist (modelling and texturing) <-- Main attribute
-texture artist
-material creation
-environment artist
Starting off next week i will be available full time
If these positions are still open, please let me know!

I'm looking for a small team of beginners as well (so we can all be on the same page). I'm pretty good at pretty much anything to do with the environment (fluid, fog, asset placement, lighting, etc.) and I'm learning modelling (3DS Max and Cinema 4D) and Kismet. I've also been working with texturing in Photoshop. So what I really need is maybe another level artist, a prop modeler, character modeler, and programmers. PM me here or on the site in my signature. ^-^
You can also email me: pressST4RT@gmail.com

Hey just sent a pm to you
We got beginner team working on small project and we need more modellers.
Try and create another thread then to help distinguish yours from this ones.
I believe that if more people tried Blender in game development, it would also rise rather fast as a competitor to Maya and 3ds Max.
OK. So, I guess I'm not much of a beginner (About several years in UE1, and three years of UE3), but with the lack of training and [proper] software, you can count me as one.
So my skills are :
- Level Design
- Animation
- Modelling (oh... try not to make me work as modeller. 3ds MAX 2009 makes my model have crappy shading, and I need UVW mapper as assistant)
- Programming (UnrealScript only)
Softwares I have :
- UDK December 2011
- Autodesk 3ds MAX 2009
- Blender
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 and CS5
- ConTEXT (with UnrealScript highlighters)
So if you're interested, you can PM or e-mail me in isa_epsilon_t@yahoo.com
Edit : Oh, btw, you can look some of my (fan-art) work at handepsilon.deviantart.com. I have some shots taken in UDK, just a minor showcase of level designs. Also, if you are interested, I can provide you with an incomplete mini-game I made and recorded :

And one more... a more serious level designing
Okay, well... not much of a beginner, yeah... but I haven't got a ready-to-work team yet, so I'm looking for the experience.
Anyone keen on joining our team should redirect to the following recruitment post.
Thanks.
