I would like some help with modulated lighting.
I have found this modulated shadow thing in the light actors, I enabled it but only the directional light is showing light, the other lights seem to have stopped working, I need some help![]()

that's so weird, because i was messing with this also- literally 2 nights ago on my new map.
- maybe check you only have [preferably] 1 dynamic light source in your scene.
http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/ModulatedShadows.html
- unfortunately i felt no real beneficial effects,
probably becuase of this; [in combination with the rest of my scene]
so i then tried independent 'LightMapResolutions' and various light sourcesLightShadow_Modulate - enables modulated shadows from this light source, which cast on any opaque or masked object. This is the cheapest mode. Modulated shadows operate by multiplying scene color instead of masking out a certain light.
In my "UTengine.ini" i have also been testing this...
[different stuff; but kinda the same ball park]
bEnableVSMShadows=False - to -
bEnableVSMShadows=True
and increasing the values here:
MinShadowResolution=32
MaxShadowResolution=512
* when im finished with this map ill hopefully be able to provide some more beneficial information
- some more information/ images of your scene will help with further assessments;
- what specifically are you trying to achieve?

I am not sure what I want to achieve with modulated shadows, I just wanted to test them out, I wanted all light actors to use modulated shadow but they get dominated by directional light (meaning, Only that specific actor produces a shadow that covers all the other lights within the shadow) I don't really know how to describe it really, I am a tester, I try new things.
I guess I just want my map to look well, kinda realistic, but to no avail![]()
