    Default The finish line

    Hi guys I am currently working on a free racing game called the finish line. I am 16 and hoping to become a game developer when I am older so this is my first real attempt at a game.

    Please check it out. I am looking for testers so if you would like to play it message me.

    Also there will be a new video up soon showing some big new features.

    Looks pretty good already!
    Try adding more custom Physics to the vehicles and maybe start working on the HUD!

    Yeah still pretty early on. I don't really get scaleform so HUD will probably take a side seat for now. But yeah I want to get the AI 100% working first then will work on things like getting the physics better

    Looks like it could become a very fun game! there hasn't been a good deathmatch style racing game since armageddon that I can think of so would do well to rival that and some!

    At the moment I'm working on the Race aspect but I fully intend to have the deathmatch aspect to. At the moments there are different maps for each. Open ones for death match and tracks for racing. I intend to have multiplayer, but at the moment I have been struggling with getting the internet multiplayer to work. Again thanks for the comments.

    It's nice but there is still a lot of work to do. This map is monotonous, just driving around is little bit boring with no details. You should add some more variations like jumps, rough terrain and also change the material of the road. Also try to adding some trees, grass, rocks and etc.
    Also you need to improve pyhsics of vehicle. Handling is to reactive and you should fix that.

    Thanks for the support, this is my first project and it is good to hear encouragement. Also gaz661 has said that I can use his vehicles. So there will also be a motorbike among other.

    I have a few other tracks which have trees etc, are much less bland but this is the one I am mainly testing on, if you look at my youtube page F1ftyKUBICAFTW and Humeangames I have lots of videos which show clips/screenshots of other tracks which are less bland.
    Also yesterday I worked on vehicle physics for the scorpion so it is more like a race car and the brakes are less realistic etc, as well as beginning to add more camera options hopefully

    Thanks most of the videos are not nescerailly extremely new so if you subscribe to the Humeangames account you will be able to track the progress I intend upload regularly to try and gain interest in the title

    As promised mate:

    I love the control scheme it works very well for the tractors and is responsive but it could do with a accelerator hud so I can judge how quickly I am coming up to corners and also a break/handbreak would be nice. No offence butcontrol scheme for the motorcycle was horrid man, back to the drawing board maybe? As I said just being honest.

    I felt it was missing a pause menu and a options menu at the start of the game.

    The tracks lacked life. On the farm/ranch for example it needed animals in the pens and the grass needed to look more real (all picky stuff I know).

    I liked the option menu at the start of the game for which vechile I wanted to drive BUT it could be done cleaner, like maybe a selection menu?

    Very good for beta stages though as most of the game mechanics for the vechile feel balanced, just sort that motorcycle out and your onto a winner :-)

    Thanks for all the feedback, most of the tracks are early and alot of people have mentioned they look bland so that is something I will definately be looking at that .

    Ah ok I get ya now, again the only reason I haven't done that is because of scaleform, im looking at other ways of doing it like hourences simple EXTHUD.

    I have now added three cameras that the player can switch between, a bonnet one, a swingman one and a wheel one. Are their others that you think would be a good addition?
    Please tell me because I would like to put in the ones that most people will use, thanks.

    Shows the new camera's and features the AI but they are not set up properly hence them crashing lots lol.

    Uploading a new build. Not as many tracks and cars because it is the ones I feel are well enough done. But has got the new island menu, AI, speed counter, lap counter and more.
