Lightning Rod Skin (Updated with better lightning rod skin video)

How many of you guys or gals think this skin should have been the final re-up skin, over what we have now. The reason I ask this, is that I noticed the electrical part is gold like the final re-up skin and also because this is one of the greatest skins they've come up with.

I don't know about making it the final re-up skin, but making it the Onyx skin or a skin you unlock for reaching level 400 would be nice.

You guys are quick, I didn't even get the poll up before you answered

. I didn't think about level 400, it's true there's not much of an incentive to actually go for it. You get the last re-up skin at level 301.

I would rather have had the same skin as ivory but black the animated skins seem cheesy.

yeah when I saw a picture of it I thought it was pretty cool. Then when I got home from work and played with it I now thinks it's meh. Been cool if it had been just pitch black. When the light hits it a bit revealing a hint of purple, thought it was still okay, then noticed the electic on it and it made me like it a bit less. I'll still use it for the sake of it being free for the event.

yeah, the lightning rod looks pretty tight. I'd like it if they kept the final re-up skins the same except for making the gun black like Midnight.. that'd be awesome.

i dont understand how they can make very good skins on the fly but when it comes to dlc most are rubbish.

the onyx should be full liquid black not just parts of the gun

No one on my friends list or myself saw this all day. It's just the default gnasher skin whenever I'm in the game mode. Did they remove it or something?

It's actually a purple base from what i've seen, you can see bits of purple popping out on the top. What they've done is similar to the thunderstorm skin they changed the background to make the lightning more noticeable, in this case they made it black instead of cloudy. The electric skin and the last re-up skin are very unnoticeable, this makes it easier to see the gold sparks.

It's not a playlist skin, they've unlocked the skin for use for the weekend. It's only available for the gnasher, go to the multiplayer section to change your skin for the gnasher. Look for the one with the custom picture, it's called lightning rod.

I just think it hasn't been made properly. There is no form to it, just a black shadow in my arms. Like it's glitched.
Animated skins in general have no appeal to me.
FON were good. I think all of the event weapon skins have been pretty tacky. Only used the Valentine's skin.

If they Epic made the lighting rod skin for re-up 3 someone would have just made a thread saying the gold electric should have been for the last re-up.

I think the gold one looks nicer. It might just be the difference in vid quality though. I will take a look at the skin when I can next be bothered with Gears.

They are essentially the same, the reason the re-up skin looks like it's different is because of the lighting. The lightning rod is on a bright map, not exactly the best video comparisons. I found a better video of it, still on the same map but in darker parts of the map and more angles.

Replaced the video in the op, so that both are shown in the same lighting. You can also see the purple effect on the gun better.

I'd love it if it didn't have the lightning and instead of purple - it was team colored (so at some angles it'd be red/blue). I'd use that for the 400 wings unlock.
